be forewarned, I'm not very good at blanket-type questions. If
you really want to know who I am... the best way is really to ask.
I'm quite friendly and often good conversation.
I guess I would describe myself as a culturehopper: I mill about
these parallel societies of cyberspace and meatspace trying to
figure out where I fit into it all. I have learned by this point in my
life that there is no such place. Have you ever felt so vastly
different from most everyone else that you felt it appropriate to
call your own humanity into question? I have. And I have
redefined my own; I am far too oddly shaped to fit under anyone
else's umbrella.
My only recourse, therefore, is to make a part of any given
culture, place, group, activity, etc, that speaks to me my own --
and lend whatever part of myself I can to it. And so my interests
and activities are quite transient, a love and respect for those with
whom we share this society, and a quiet, respectful, shyish
hedonism the only constants.
Until then, I simply search the bottomless annals of humanity for
pieces of the Great Jigsaw, slowly piece together an idea of who
and why I am... to bring as much happiness to myself and others
as I am capable... and to simply make the most out of this frenetic
rats' maze known as life.
Were you looking for something a bit more mundane? I'm sorry --
try this: I am a computer professional -- I earn my living writing
programs to try to break other programs. I have a beautiful
daughter, the love of my life.
Think I am quite different from you or anyone you know? Perhaps
you are right. But you are very, very wrong...
