Hi, I'm new here. I'm from the Netherlands and I'm looking for some more contacts concerning folkmusic. I'm playing in a small folkgroup called Folks!, playing guitar and tin-/low whistle (not good, but practising and learning like hell). I love to listen to old and newer folkmusic as well as to worldmusic, deep purple (following them for 28 years now), Tom Waits, Ry Cooder, JJCale, Elvis Costello. My favorite folkgroup at this moment is Flook and I just heard about the Peatbog Faeries, who are GREAT! I have a disease that I have under control, it's called Whoa, short of whistle obsessive acquisition disorder. Fortunately I'm only dreaming of expanding my collection, but I have traded a whistle for a whistle for a whistle. Now I've got 3 that come from a South African maker. I'm also very pleased to have met one of the great whistlemakers Colin Goldie, maker of the famous Overton whistles, also used by Flook. And what's more to tell. I'm married and have 3 children and I work at an addiction centre dealing with people with a double diagnosis (psychiatry and addiction). Wanna know more? Just ask..
Hello there!
Welcome to the home of the Fruheads! We are a friendly folk, who require little in the way of maintenence. Mainly, you must remember to never, ever get us wet, and for the love of God, don't feed us after midnight. Or something like that. You must first create an account to post.
