ineffably complex

I guess I would call the electronia madness of Moby "mood music." His music is sometimes very powerful, and sometimes very laid back and fun. And it can easily alter your mood. My favorite is "Animal Rights," although I do enjoy recognizing many snippets of "Play" on various commercials. Moby is also a very intelligent guy and his essays are interesting to read. I guess he inherited the gift of writing from his great great uncle Herman Melville.

Play

is a really great album.. yeah so I hadn't heard of him before Play but Play is really great.. and I'm not usually into technoish music. I love the disc a lot. The beginning, the middle (BODYROCK!!!) and especially the end which is just beautiful instrumental guitar flute and string ("Everlong")

Shelly Haefele:

The definition of great techno

Moby does a great job at making techno into something besides crazy upbeat dance music that are best kept within the doors of a club. Play is a great album that spans all sorts of moods, from happy and excited to serene. I love listening to some of the calmer tracks while watching the sun rise or set. It's great. Honey is so catchy...

Mosch:

When he's good he's REALLY good

though when he's bad, he's really bad. Moby first hit my record collection in the early nineties when I heard the single 'Go', and he's kept a good presence in it, from then through the (1998?) release of his most incredible album, Play, which combines old and new seamlessly, working entire songs around found sounds originally recorded about 70 years ago.

Tonya (Moore) Colombe:

amazing work from someone who thinks outside the box. bringing club kids and social misanthropes such as myself together.

MOBY=COOL

Johanna Culbertson:

Creative

This guy leads a simplistic life, loves what he does and is great at it. His music is very catchy.

Moby for world Dictator

*Warning: the fallowing contents are written by a raving lunatic and are for entertainment pourpus' only* Moby's Plans for secratly taking over the world has been discovered! I know what he is up too! Can't you see it? Moby is everywhere! He is on the TV we watch, the Music we listen too, the movies we see and the air we breath! How many times did they have him on VH1's 100 most shocking moments on Rock? 98 times, I counted! He was on there more than Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, WHO HOSTED THE SHOW! And why not, he is very talented! His CD is Incredable, and listening to it for the first time I seemed to know all the songs intamently. How? I never listened to his CD before? Because Moby is secratly taking over the world with his music! Which is why I am imploring you, LET HIM! Like his rise to superstardom, he should show up at every major political event for the next year or 2 speaking and saying very insiteful things. Then he should claim he is a world ruler and we will let him! Just watch! He will be a much better Dictator than George Dubbuyah Bush. Besides when was the last time Dubbuyah did a duet with a member of No Doubt? That's right Never! Which is why we have never seen a great dictator in our life time, none of them has *EVER* done a duet with a member of No Doubt. With Moby Leading us I think we finally have a chance for world Peace! *Note: Shortly after this was written 3 men in a white van wearing white coats gave our fine young writer a setative and a nice coat. He is currently in belveiw looking for a taylor because his sleeves are too long on his new coat*
