Review of "Christine Lavin" |
Information:What's the band's name? Christine Lavin What genre is this band?Folk Where is this band from?Does this band have a homepage?http://www.Christinelavin.com Give a short summary of this band ("Soft folk with a jazzy twist" for instance):Funny folk music Reviews:Funny folk music Christine, or Christy, Lavin in many ways IS the modern era of folk music, having clawed her way up and spent her time at the top supporting other artists. Her lyrics can be a bit odd, and don't always scan right, but that's what make's 'em folky! She's funny, bright, and the only musician I know who does Batton twirling on stage! Check out one of her many albums!A folk cheerleader with an interesting take on things Christine is full of the giggly energy that is incredibly infectious and can take over an audience. But she's not just a novelty funny artist. She also can write very emotional, touching songs. This seems to be a common thread in great folk performers, like Cheryl Wheeler, Fruvous, Susan Werner, etc. Listen to Christine. She kicks butt.get in touch with your inner bitch Hysterical songs. Touching, heartfelt songs. Lighthouse impressions, baton twirling, and middle- aged guys wiggling their butts. Christine's got it all, and she's still the sweetest, most genuine performer you could ever hope to meet. Altho you've really gotta wonder about someone who releases an album that features gordon...:)What was I thinking?!? I bought one of her CDs on a whim (and numerous recommendations from Gordon) and I fell in love with it. Check her out!Funny Folksinger who touches the heart Christine Lavin is as funny as Frvous. do I need to say more? Her songs, all true stories, are all either very funny or very touching. Her most requested song is "The kind of love you never recover from" a love song to the one that got away. Everyone has someone like that. She even put words to the Jeopardy theme song. She is a must see. Since I wrote this she talked about me on her live album Subway series. Can I give her an 11?Christine's songs touch on our every-day struggles until we laugh them away. Her wit is smartly clean and accessable to all. She is a must-see. To rate this, log in.
