I refuse to say "first post"
nate... Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
if only people would refuse to say "batnose" :P
Sarah · 21 years, 3 months ago
I was torn between clod and Pete Best. Voted clod. Sarah

I would've voted for "earworm."

I did vote for "other" since, as "variations" it theoretically covers everything on the poll, as well as things not.  *nodnod*
Arbie · 21 years, 3 months ago

I too am indebted to FHDC (actually all the fruvous places) for adding "earworm" to my vocabulary. Of course, as my last name is Fru (really it is, I have a driver's license and a birth certificate to prove it) I am partial to all Fru-something words, particularly Fru-casa (Colleen and Vika's place), Fru-casa West (I humbly claim that for my abode) and Frulie (what can I say, we love us some Frulie, we fruly do).

I am also very fond of hearing the name Robin Fru :-)

Hmmm....and *snuggles*. So much more descriptive than *hugs*

Ok. That is all.

Except to *pounce* on the SnarkiFru

w00t! That's what I voted for. :D
Mamalissa! Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
ditto.  me too.  batnose.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
Poor child, unable to realize the glory that is batnose.
nate... Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
The glory that is some silly inside joke that nobody ever bothered to explain to the rest of us?

A girl named Becca Back · 21 years, 3 months ago

Yup.  I definitely would've said "earworm."  :)

nate... Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
But, see, I thought this was FHDC-specific words.

I mean, if you're gonna go into just, like, "favorite words people on FHDC sometimes say"... I'd go with "garbanzo" or "rutabega" as those are two of my favorite words in general.
sheryls Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
hm. while never explained, i always thought it meant something like "wavelength" meant to me and my friends - like "i was just about to say that!" or "jinx, owe me a coke/beer/whatever."
Agent Scully Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
I like w00t!

or d00d! :D
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
Actually it was explained. Look at the Batnose dictionary on my profile.
nate... Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
Yeah!

or \/\/007!
Erica: movin' to Ohio!! · 21 years, 3 months ago
we should say frell more often. in honor of farscape being cancelled. oh god..i'm starting to sound like a fan...NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nate... Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
Well then! I still think "jinx" works much better, tho.

goovie is married! Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
yeah, basically "jinx." but "jinx" doesn't come with its very own salute. :P
}^{
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 21 years, 3 months ago
Now this one is not going to be explained. I don't think there is an explanation.
goovie is married! Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
oOguaaaaaam...guaaaaaam...guaaaaaam...GUAAAAAAM!Oo also, oOweeeet buuuutt, weee-eeeet buuuuuttOo

and there's a perfectly good explanation for both of those: it's a bloody long way from your/gella's/melissa's houses to clearwater. :)
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
That and the fact that we are all certifiably insane
Mamalissa! Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
Ahem!  I'll have you know that I have never been certified insane.  I am entirely self-taught.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
You can be self taught and still be certified. It's like getting a GED in insanity
renita Back · 21 years, 3 months ago
nah. I see them as being intrinsically different.

jinx is for spoken word. batnose is for typed stuff on the wall.

or that's the way I walways understood it to work.

I remember being a newbie on FHDC and seeing "batnose" everywhere and having no idea what it meant! (then somehow I became a member of the band Batnose!)
