Fortune cookie blunders

   Discussion: Fortune cookie blunders
Zach · 21 years, 4 months ago
I received the following message in a fortune cookie:

"Behind an able man, there are always."

What does it mean? There are always what? Hordes of angry simians ready for battle? Gallons of partially hydrogenated soybean oil? Children?

Any ideas?

as I have already suggested....

"behind an able man, there are always foot prints"

Back · 21 years, 4 months ago

heh, I had one that said

"Yu are good at miking new friends"

Rod and I laughed about that one for hours..I think I still have it somewhere!

...so....how do you "mik" new friends?

What is a donit?  Is it like a donut?

Zach Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
A friend of mine printed out a fortune of his own that said "You will die today." He took it to a Chinese restaurant and complained.

One of my favorite pranks is to ask to borrow someone's graphing calculator, type "You are going to die" on it, turn it off, and then hand it back to them.  The look on their face when they turn it back on is priceless.

Hey, Only Ellen can make fun of my spelling!  I force her to fix it!  So unless I ask, you just have to side with everyone else that it's one of my more enduring qualities!
It's a girl! Back · 21 years, 4 months ago

Hmmm. Well,  I suspect your spelling difficulties will be around for quite some time. So I guess "enduring" works in a way!

*just had to take advantage of my god given right to mock you-- with love of course*

J. Andrew World Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
Baby, after the atrocities of spelling I have subjected you, too, and then asked you to fix them,  you have every right!

When converting between certain character encodings, a single apostrophe would be translated into the accented i. Most noticeably, this happens when going to/from Microsoft Word, because they use a special character for the single apostrophe instead of an ASCII standard.

*applauds* I love when people bring in the obscure and geeky knowledge that saves the day.

I once was in my parents' back yard and next to their desert tortoise was a small slip of paper. I picked it up, and it said "You will take a trip to the desert," so it was obviously his, so I put it back down.

Yay desert tortoises!  I did a Student Conservation Association internship where I worked with those guys - they try so hard to be monsters, but they're just too adorable to be threatening!  And that is a perfect fortune for one!
Jºnªthªn Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
Did you notice that they can teleport? If you look at one, moving along at an inch a year, and turn your head for a second, he's across the yard.
Mamalissa! Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
I was tracking them using radiotelemetry, and yes, they can be quick little buggers when they're on the move.  We'd get some that'd move almost 500 meters over a week!

I got a fortune just a couple of days ago that said "You have a future in research science," and I thought "as a scientist or a subject?"

What kind of fortune is that?

Shelly · 21 years, 4 months ago

um....mis-prints are better than when ya get an -empty- one.

or.

as -i- call them when that happens. UN-fortunate cookies.

:)

LOL!
Sarah Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
I like it when you get two fortunes.

Andrea Krause Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
But what do you do if they are in conflict? :)
Zach Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
Burn the one you don't like?
Rachel Marie aka RAI Back · 21 years, 4 months ago
I once got THREE!

...Does that make me fortunate?
