no.

don't get a snoopy.

snoopys are harder to play. I know george will back me up on this. I thought I broke a tooth on a snoopy (I didn't, it hit REALLY hard and made a BAD noise and hurt like the dickens though)

I like my snoopy. It is harder to play though. When I was a kid we all had jew's harps. When one of my friend's got what is now called the snoopy we were all so jealous. When I got mine a few years ago I finally got over it.

also.

check your local music store, lots of them carry erm I guess beginner type ones. The music store in vancouver where I bought most of mine carries some that are around $6 CDN. (Last time I bought one anyway)

unless you like the taste of your own blood coming from your ripped and thrashed lips, avoid the snoopy jaw harp like the plague.

good local music stores will have a wide variety of types and pitches. get a medium pitch jaw harp to start out with; bass types are too hard to play at first, and alto ones are only good for certain purposes. tenor/baritone are the most recognized sound you'll hear from most jaw harp sounds.

unless you're wack like me and have five different metal and three bamboo jaw harps. :D

Gah! I wish someone had told me that 2 years ago when I purchased one. I still have it, sitting, on a shelf, not being used. I thoughtI was just challenged in that area.

See, ya'll are neglecting to realize that he's in Thailand.
I'm assuming it's slightly tougher than walking to your local music store.
:D
