Moxy Fruvous
February 21, 1998
1st Annual Fruhead Convention
Toronto, ON

Taper: Jason Reiser
Source: Microtech Gefell M300 > Beyerdynamic MV100 > Zefiro InBox > Sony TCD-D8
(mics front & center, coincident 90 degrees)
DAT > SHN: Tascam DA-30mkII > Zefiro ZA-2 > WinNT4 PC > CoolEdit96 > CD Wave 1.9 > mkwACT 0.96f

Notes: Moxy Fruvous played seven songs without amplification during a fan convention.
This show was often distributed with 9th track - a 32 minute raffle that followed
the performance. The raffle isn't of much interest to anyone who wasn't present.

I used CoolEdit to duck some of the louder yells and applause from the audience.
If you wonder just how close the mics were to the band, have a look at:

FYI, Love Set Fire and That's Any Good are actually reversed in the setlist.
Jason Reiser · 20 years, 6 months ago

good catch... that's what I get from copying/pasting from fruvous.com which has it backwards as well. Whoops!

The track lengths are correct as listed but those two titles are reversed.

51 successful downloads later, I'm the only one still seeding this. Fortunately there aren't any leechers so it's not a problem.

Don't tell me... too many too quickly...

laaaaame!

I have two excuses... one, I didn't dl that show. :)
but two, every time I'm superseeding a new show, I pause all other seeds... gets it up and running faster, given my limited upload bandwidth.

The rest of ya'll have no excuse (unless you're also putting up shows to seed, of course).

That's my excuse, too. Though, I can probably re-open my connection and help seed for a while.
Jason Reiser Back · 20 years, 6 months ago
Not really a problem... just had to vent. ;)

I've been trying to keepthe torrents I created seeded. Right now, two of the 3 don't have any leechers. Whats the standard time for seeders to keep their original seeds active?
Paul D. Beasi Back · 20 years, 6 months ago
I have two issues.

First, the Mac OS X client does not let me throttle the upstream bandwidth. Therefore, my connection gets saturated and is nearly unusable. :(

Second, I'm on a laptop downloading to an external FW800 drive. When I'm not here or when I am here but want to be mobile, I can't seed anyway. And that is most of the time.

If everyone who downloads also uploads simultaneously, then what constitiutes a leech and a seed? It seems like you would be both until you are done, and then you'd be just a seed. Am I missing something?
dgodwin Back · 20 years, 6 months ago

You are correct in that you do share while you are downloading. However, it's suggested that you leave your bit torrent window open, even after you've finished downloading. You become a seed at that point, as you have all the information and can share.

If everyone shut down their torrent client, then there would be little difference between the torrent and someone just continuing to upload it from their computer. Since most peoples connection are capped, it would be a very slow process. If you have10 seeds who can upload, it makes for a lot faster downloads.
