i understand the elastic band thing. it's a healthier alternative so i'm happy for you in that sense, if that makes any sense. something i've been doing myself, sounds really hokey, is "thought stopping". essentially when your brain gets in a loop with negative thoughts you raise your right hand, snap your fingers loudly, and mentally say "stop!". i don't know why, but it's been working for me lately, it probably wouldn't affect you if you're feeling schizo-affective... i don't think anything but meds will touch that body-induced evilness.

hey, you might be weak, but at least you've got the talent to create something. fuck them, if you can make something out of nothing then i'm in awe of you. i would buy a movie theatre, salary you at some ridiculous rate, full medical, make 3/4 of your job homebased (like scheduling of people) so you could work away when you're unwell, make you my artistic director, make you a nametag that "zil that rocks my world: my p'tite", and every person that gave you lip would get a smackdown from the pacho. i'll even let you pick the name of the theatre. you absolutely and totally rule zil, you tell all these people that give you stress that pacho said to go fuck themselves. meh, and love *hugs*
