Folk festival crazies

   Discussion: Folk festival crazies

I scanned and posted a picture of Buttercup and her friend today. This got me to thinking... I have certainly met my share of interesting characters at folk festivals. I mean, there was the guy in the lion suit, the lady dressed as a cardinal and her male friend dressed as a nun who wanted to be referred to as Sister Sister, the miserable teepee guy ("It's the WORST TEEPEE EVER!!!! *runs away and sobs*")... oh yeah, and that hyper girl with the inflatable alien who rolled down the hill at 6:00 am. Hmm. Most of these seem to be from Falcon Ridge. Curious.

so... what are your tales of markedly unique individuals at folk festivals?

buttercup and her friend definitely take the cake, altho they'll probably have to share it with the Bad Sad Dad Guy.

I have a picture of one in my profile, but I didn't get close enough to find out if she was truly crazy, or merely eccentric.

As a midwesterner, I haven't been able to attend as many folk festivals as I'd like... in fact, my only experience comes from three years at Falcon Ridge. As a non-camper, I think I miss out on a majority of the people and the fun. With those exclusions, I think my favoriteswerethe faerie on stilts.and the dancing Jesus.

I always figured I was a folk festival crazy. A woman came up to me at FRFF and said that she recognized me from Bridgeton. She wanted me to know how much she enjoyed by the antics of  brain=center of the chain and me.
