I (heart) Canadian Boys t-shirt

Discussion: I (heart) Canadian Boys t-shirt
Tracie · 21 years, 11 months ago
I've been trying forever to get a I (heart) Canadian Boys t-shirt, but they're out of
stock on maplemusic, nobody's selling any on ebay or Yahoo! auctions, and my
friend who owns one refuses to part with it since her new boyfriend is
Canadian. ::sniffles:: Does anyone have one they're willing to sell, preferably size
small or medium?

I know I won't part with mine, and I suspect other folks around these particular forums (fora?) would feel similarly. Good luck, though!

Tracie,

I'm not willing to sell mine, partly because it's the way I get people out here in the midwest to ask questions about Fruvous. But what about patterns? If you sew -- or know somebody who does -- I bet you could make one, which is, arguably, better still.
Brightline (a Canadian manufacturer) made the shirts and -- who knows? -- might still have the template.

Plus, they only came in one size... the short babydoll kind :)

Someone might have said this already..(I was a bit lazy to go reading through all the posts)... but I know that if you get a t-shirt of your own, and take it to a place that embroiders (sp)
they would be more than willing to design one for you!

I bought a "Canadian girls kick ass" shirt...that is coming apart, and my local mall lady with the computerized stitching machine said she'd make me the same design on one of my own shirts for around $20 (cnd)

just a thought!

Hey Tracie . . . unfortunately, no. But one nit-picky thing: they're one-size-fits-all. You could go to fruvous.com and try calling the office number or call Jack Ross' office. They might have some left laying around . . . somewhere. In Jian's basement perhaps. That's where everything else is, right?

You dont want mine, it's all stretched out.

So did anyone bother to email the girl who posted about the t-shirt since she hasn't signed on since December and probably never saw the update to this thread?

I got mine on maplemusic back in um, July or so? My suggestion is to keep an eye on the front page, whenever the C album is on the hot sellers. That generally means they've restocked some stuff lately- and then go check the shirts. If they're there, nab one as soon as you can! Last time they restocked the shirts went quick.

Also, you could try ordering through FDC?
Tracie Back · 21 years, 10 months ago
Unless I'm missing something, FDC just offers a picture of the shirt and a link to maplemusic to order it. Do you think the FDC webmaster could help? (Or, the more important question would be, does he look at his e-mails?)

http://www.fruvous.com/merchan.html

At the bottom of the page is an order form you can send in. As far as I know it's still functional.

Last year I sent in an order for the hockey jersey and my check kept getting returned. I called and they said the reason was because the merchandise was no longer available. Sarah

i would blatantly make one! home-made t-shirts are way cool if they're done really well... i would get a pic of the t-shirt, then blow it up using photoshop or something, print it off, and then make a stencil out of it! :) in my experience, acrylic paint works best: it's thick so it doesn't spread or blur, and it'll never ever ever wash out (i learned this the hard way in art class, grrr)! don't know how it would turn out on black tho. you might have to test it out first. :)

if that doesn't work, maybe if you can get a good enough quality blown-up picture of it, you can get it put onto a t-shirt for you at one of those specialist t-shirt-maker-upper shops. some photo processing places can do that too, but i think it has to be a white t-shirt. bleh. :)

I have found that silver ink (you know those pens that you shake and shake) works great on black t-shirts. I made (painted) a couple of 'creepy stalker girl' t-shirts for a Worms show and the fellows signed the shirts with the silver pen I brought.

heehee... i love those pens! i almost bought one yesterday. they're soooo useful for christmas cards... except when you press the nib down too hard and it ejects a huge big greasy silver glob onto your card masterpiece :D

i think you can get stuff in craft shops that enables you to make a print off a photo onto fabric... it's like a gel or a thick liquid thing that you can spread on a photo, press it onto the fabric and the image will come off on the t-shirt. although it comes out backwards. hm. i'm not sure how this would work with the whole logo thing. oops :D

Trace, if you ever meet me, I'll let you copy my design, nerd-o. ;o)

Ha... I HAPPENED to run into this on the forums... I didn't even know you had an account. ;o)

Anyway, yeah, ever meet me, we'll work out the design. I might even be able to scan it in for you and photoshop it up when I get back home.
