Coming to Toronto

   Discussion: Coming to Toronto
Andrew Lange · 19 years, 9 months ago
So I get to spend a night in Toronto in early December (coming in on Monday the 6th and leaving on the 7th in the late afternoon). Any suggestions on things to do and a cheap place to stay?

on Sherbourne (across the street from me), there is a lovely, inexpensive little hotel called Hotel Isabella.

my father and sister have stayed there, and I've seen the place... it's a charming, comfortable, old-fashioned, independently owned place.

I'd highly recommend it.

i'm no expert on Toronto, but i've been there cheaply a few times.

the Hostels are the cheapest place to stay by yourself but if you're staying with others a hotel room is far more private and comfortable. and the shower is more likely to work. :P i've stayed at that first one listed there. decent location, but not terribly comfortable. no elevators o.O

if you're into hockey the hockey hall of fame is worth checking out. just walking around and shopping is always fun too, just find a trendy little area that's your style and even just window shop :P

siobhan and istayed in the hostelling international place (is that HYI? or IYH? whatever) on church street, and it was rilly grate. :D it's pretty central and good value. dorms are usually in 6's or 4's, the staff are friendly and helpful, it has elevators, and it's brightly coloured and arty and chilled out. *recommends, complete with thumbs-up and cheesy grin*

hehe. That happened to me in a hostel in NYC this (right before Falcon Ridge). They gave me a room on the 5th floor - and with temperatures constantly in the 90s this really trains your memory skills ...
