TIFF files?

   Discussion: TIFF files?
Wintress · 19 years, 9 months ago

Some of my required reading is saved in TIFF format. It doesn't like to display.

I'm running XP Pro, just downloaded the (controversial) Windows Pak 2, and I'm dialing in. I get "no image to display" or "no document found". I use IE as my browser, which might be part of the problem, but I'm not going to mess with the controls just to get this document. (I know just enough to be really stupid when it comes to setting controls...)

Any ideas?

As a graphic designer (Mac-using) nerd, I don't know why anybody would save reading material for classes as tiffs. Tiffs are high-end (and high memory) graphic files for printing purposes. Go tell your professor/supervisor that he or she is an idiot.

I agree. Tiff is last century. PDF is pretty much the universal standard now.

in KitH fashion: IRONY!!

Trust me. The guy's an idiot all the way around. He said he'd save them in pdf format, but....

I doubt telling him to his face would help my grade. Right now, I need all the help I can get.

Look under versiontracker for tif
Wintress · 19 years, 9 months ago
Okay. I am now the proud recipient of gimp downloads and something-else-I-don't-remember. versiontracker = way cool and uber-intimidating.

Conclusion: the library's e-reserve is down. again. therefore I cannot use my new software to view anything other than "file cannot be found" pages.

I'm gonna beat me a professor...
