o.O that's sweet. how much do you charge for an original painting?

tacott told me about "too much monkeys" how we got to that from talking about how much I charge for paintings I don't know.

a lot of stuff goes into deciding how much I charge.

if I hate you but you're determained to have one? atleast $500.00 more than I would usually charge.

other factors:

Time-I make a S.A.D. (Small Actual Divedens) hourly rate, but I kind of have to not think about it. the one I'm doing now I put over 5o hours into already and if I got payed like 10 an hour thatd be 500 without factoring in anything else.

suplies-I atleast have to recoup how much suplies cost me.

family members/friends discout-this applies to someone wanting to encourage me but they can't really aford me.

size- obviously a HUGE one will cost more than a postcard sized piece.

if its for a not for profit theater- I charge a round fee of 25 bucks for design and gas compensation for getting me to the theater for a couple months.

rare-ity - if its perticularly WONDERFUL and its something I don't usually do, like stained glass, its WAY more.

summary? it depends.

I keep contact information for all of my sales and write to them from time to time to let them know about new pieces and any shows. which is unusual for a small time artist.

anyone interested in aquireing an origonal piece could frum me.

the one pictured is prolly going to run my sis anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars. its for her office, *snicker* they'll love the little coffee devils!!

I can't afford to be too pricey.
