What's that?

but I don't use it anymore. I mostly bought it so I could play games during lectures in college. :)

I still use Palm Desktop, though, to keep track of addresses and phone numbers, although I've imported most of them into gmail now.

I guess I could count cell phone, only because I have one, and I suppose it holds my phone numbers in it.

While I'm sure I'd find a use for one if I had it, I can't honestly think of a single time where I thought I might want/need an electronic organizer. I don't tend to have meetings and dates that I need to keep track of though. It's just one of those things that is not part of my reality I guess.

If it existed, I would like Penny's book from Inspector Gadget, but I don't think they make that yet.

It's like, exercize for your organs, right? Organizing!

My palm holds my life. I do play games on it, but I also have my calendar and reminders and stuff.

or better yet, Dib's laptop from Invader Zim.

I haven't used a paper based PIM (and neither a journal btw) for quite some time now - it's so much better for me this way; I use it for almost everything: appointments, to-dos, addresses - both private and business. (I have to admit that I can't read my handwriting after a week or so - nobody can read it all unless I try hard)

I switched from a Palm V to a PPC some years ago when the Palm got too limited.

And I've got lots of reference stuff on it: German & English wikipedia, lots of language related dictionaries; Tome Raider compliant databases/dictionaries liek imdb, LotR, etc. All on a 1gig SD card...

and I use it to check email, read my lj flist, rss feeds on the go (for the most part on the bus or when I bored :) - in most cases uses tethered bluetooth-> cell phone (GPRS) since it works virtually everywhere.

And it even can play Snoooood. But that's evil.

Sadly, it's not so nice over on this side of the Atlantic (depending on who your carrier is). Data plans can get pretty pricey, as do bluetooth enabled phones. Even then, some cariers limit the functionality of the bluetooth.

(All that being said, I'd love to connect my Palm Tungsten T5 to a bluetooth phone and surf the web from my hand.)

Boo. Hiss. I didn't know that. Evil corporations. *smites*

I know that it's not so nice in North America in that respect. (And the coverage is spottier, too). I'll check my options when I'm permanently in the U.S. :)

i use one of those "week at a glance" things...it's got Get Fuzzy comics in it. That's what i use to keep track of homework and whatnot. For everything else, i either write it on scrap paper, or use iCal. And my hand. I write lots on my hand. Which is probably unhealthy, but oh well.

We call my Palm my "brain"...

What do you use to read LJ? Is there a Palm solution for that too?
Phoenix Back · 19 years, 4 months ago
Just a browser on your mobile (I prefer Netfront which optimizes websites for mobile devices) and I use a custom lj viewstyle to make it low bandwidth friendly.

My Palm Pilot is... er... my palm. Lots of scribbles on my hand of important things I'm supposed to do, like "eat" "sleep" and "stop buying sharipie-pens". I have an Assignment Notebook my college gave me, but I usually have to write "see ntbk" on my hand to remember to use it.
