Musician Watching

   Discussion: Musician Watching

At Clearwater this year I really enjoyed watching Larry Kerwin laughing at Modern Man, Billy Jonas sitting in the audience while Zoe Lewis was on the Family Stage, and Christine Lavin and Zoe Lewis getting totally into each other's work at a workshop. In the past watching the Kennedys watch Hoopoe (aka Richard Thompson) is always a hoot. They get totally involved. Do you like musician watching?

Yes, I definitely do. I remember an awesome moment at the show where Fruvous opened for Violent Femmes. During the femmes set when they had this amazing banjo solo I noticed Dave-o watching from the balcony and there was this awesome expression of awe and joy on his face that really touched me. Like...to see someone I respect so much as a musician be that blown away.

I *heart* musician watching!!! I remember at Bridgeton in 2001 watching Jian and others watching Richard Thompson, Clearwater 2000 watching Nerissa & David Nields dancing to Frvous backstage....watching Vance watch people at FRFF is SO fun.....it's great watching Robbie watch people...and I *love* people watching Tracy Grammer......I could go on & on........

It's so cool that they all appreciate & admire each other.
