Sexiest Characters in Literature?

 Discussion: Sexiest Characters in Literature?
K-Lyn · 18 years, 11 months ago
A friend's blog topic from a few days ago... I wondered what the fruhead reactions would be...A laminated list of sorts.
Starfox · 18 years, 11 months ago
I like Dagny Taggart in Atlas Shrugged. Such a strong willed independent woman.
Samantha · 18 years, 11 months ago
Fitzwilliam Darcy from Pride & Prejudice. Maybe it's just me, but a challenging stubborn man is hot.
Bender Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Apparently, you've never lived with one.
*joolee* Back · 18 years, 11 months ago

He was the first guy who came to mind when I read this...

Also considered Mr Rochester from Jane Eyre...ahh those old timey menfolk.

goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
i have never gotten the rochester love. but then, i've never been much for bad boys.

honestly? if i had to pick anyone, i'd say joe willard from the betsy-tacy books. but i sort of have an obvious thing for midwestern journalism students who know how to cook. (fun fact: neal and joe both worked at the same newspaper! other fun fact: joe is not real!)

oh! and for girls, definitely emily starr from l.m. montgomery's emily series. anne was who i was, but emily was who i wanted to be--all beautiful and elfin and poetic and psychic.
K-Lyn Back · 18 years, 11 months ago

I had Darcy in a tie with Mr. Knightly...Jane sure knew how to write men!!!

hkath · 18 years, 11 months ago
Well, I always had a thing for Tristan, from the James Herriot books. It's been so long since I've read one, though, I don't know if the thing is still around.
Bender Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
They totally are.

I had a thing for Tristan, too :)
Andrea Krause · 18 years, 11 months ago
I didn't have many, because my imagination sucks so much that I can't take them off the page. But I had a bit of a thing for Arthur Dent from the hitchhiker's books.
Bender Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Me, too!

I'm so me-tooey.
Elwenaur Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Really?I kind ofliked Ford Prefect. :)
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Ford was too hoopy a frood for me. I like 'em on the geeky and awkward side. :)
sheryls Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I think ford was sexier (as stated below), and to me, Zaphod is the one that's too hoopy for me. been sassed to many times, methinks :D
Elwenaur Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Oh, but wait! I forgot about Zaphod. I actually like him later on.
sheryls Back · 18 years, 11 months ago

i'm with you, Ford is WAY sexier.

Gordondon son of Ethelred · 18 years, 11 months ago
The fairest elven woman, raven haired, grey eyed, with the most beautiful voice ever. How can you beat that?
Elwenaur Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Speaking of which, I like Beren. Actually, I remembered just know that I love Feanor!

...and now i realize that i've posted a ton of different characters here already and that i need to get around to stopping.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Feanor is my favorite character. The name I used on the tolkien newgroup and that ended up on AMMF too was Feanole.
Jillian Bird · 18 years, 11 months ago
I've got two: Buddy from "Soul Music" by Terry Pratchet (Discworld) and when I was 13 it was Atreyu from The Neverending Story by Michael Ende
elfy, teacher of many Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I never thought that 'buddy' was more than a teenager's name. I always thought that Carrot had many attractive attributes.
dirty life & times Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
carrot. gosh yes.
dirty life & times · 18 years, 11 months ago
holden caulfield, of course,

and eilonwy from the taran wanderer books.
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
my son and I just finished reading "the book of three". She is a bit high strung
Elwenaur · 18 years, 11 months ago
I hope I don't sound stupid, but I really like Sirius Black from Harry Potter. Although, if we're going from classic literature, I always thought Darcy was a good one too.
goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
no!! sirius belongs to remus!!!
K-Lyn Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
??? What's wrong with Remus?
goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
erm...who said anything was wrong with remus?
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Romulus
goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
NO FOUNDING ROME WITH GOD!
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
God founded Rome? He never mentioned that to me.
lawrence Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
so?

explanation is possibly spoilery. select the text to read it, and be careful if you cut and paste it into a reply.
Ginny Weasley isn't exactly available, either, but that doesn't stop me totally wanting her - not to mention if she were real, she'd be turning 24 tomorrow, so it's not even like she'd even be too young for me. :)
Talcott Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
*blink* *blink*
She's my age?

(I'd go on, but I can't remember how to do invisi-text, so I'll just leave this nice and vague)
lawrence Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
well, a day older, but yeah.

invisi-text:
Insert invisible text here
Steph Strenger · 18 years, 11 months ago
Jean-Luc Picard is a sexpot
Andrea Krause · 18 years, 11 months ago
Gilbert Blythe
Elwenaur Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Oh my word! How could i forget too? I remember reading those books when I was little and wanting to slap Anne because she was being an idiot.
Matt · 18 years, 11 months ago
In my book, Amanda the lead character from the novel Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins gets my shout out.

Matt.
elfy, teacher of many · 18 years, 11 months ago
mmmMMmmmm .... X-men.
dirty life & times Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
i love a guy with an accent :)
Snow In Summer Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
that's the reason I'm all about Gambit. ;-)
Talcott Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Kitty Pride anyone? ;-)

I can't be the only person disapointed that she was about 6 in the movie.
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
In the next one she'll be older
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
are you referring to xmen 3?
Cuz, the actress who plays her in that is 18. :)

Talcott Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
No, in two there's a little girl running through walls (I think someone might even mention her name). She's actually in the same scene as Colossus.

Unless the third movie takes place a good bit later, I'm sure they'll declare that it wasn't her, but in the second one it was definitly a very young Kitty Pride.
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
ahh.
Well, according to imdb it was Katie Stuart.... who was 18 at the time.

;)

lawrence Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
it's really irrelevant anyway, because it's still all about Rogue. :)

(er, in the movies, that is)
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Heh.
A valid point.

(or all about wolverine... depending on if you're talking male or female...)

*joolee* Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Wolverine reminds me WAY too much of my ex-b/f. I will have Picard :)
nate... Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
"oh jean-luc!!!!"

Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
When I saw Colossus I thought of Colossus the Forbin Project. I did think it a bit disturbing that you thought a computer, not even a robot, was sexy.
Elwenaur · 18 years, 11 months ago
okay i just remembered this too.....Calvin Miller from the Alvin Maker series by Orson Scott Card. And whil I'm at it, I might as well throw in Grego Ribeira from the Ender series.
Ed Kowalczewski · 18 years, 11 months ago
Jilly from Charles deLint's Newford stories.

And I'm wondering what Mr Ford thought this summer of his 2nd favorite superhero the Invisible Woman.
