Who else is trying National Novel Writing Month this year? Maybe my fifth time will be the time I finally finish...
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 9 months ago
I finished my first and only time. It was a classic. I forgot the title, something about meteorology and oceanography.

yeah, and it caused more drama than nano had seen before or since. :P

Like Sherlock Holme's tale of the Giant Rat of Sumatra, it was a story for which the world was not just ready. At least according to that Nazi woman.

frau-nano! hee. i had to go thru the wall archives to find out her name.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 9 months ago
That's her! I forgot her name too. I know I considered making her the villain if I ever attempted another nanonovel.

So does anyone else think of Mork and Mindy when they hear NanoWrimo?

they delete all the old forum posts every year, tho, so you can't even go back and see all the fabulous things she said. i remember that you were a threat to the youth of america and that you spent too much time going to "alternative rock" concerts.

I also wasted government money by making long distance phone calls from work.

The sad part is I liked her thinking I was the antichrist.

like the last three tries, I'll probably start out, write about 10,000 words, then stop.

at least this time I have an outline and some idea of what I want the details to be. this'll be my first attempt at a not-so-stream-of-consciousness novel.
goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 9 months ago
so what are you writing about?

(eta: yay frumessages.)
Bender · 18 years, 9 months ago
I'm working on a book of my own.

To give a hint on the subject, i mite start 2 rite lik this.

So you are going to copy Gay Penguin's style? That isn't right. If he wants to write a novel that's fine but you shouldn't imitate him.

Look! I found it!

Um... am I trying it...

only if i can think of something to write about.
danced with Lazlo Back · 18 years, 8 months ago
yeah, I'm in.
Joy- new picture! · 18 years, 8 months ago
Yeah, I'm trying it too. Lack of computer has me nervous, but I figure it's worth a shot. Hrm. Subject.
goovie is married! Back · 18 years, 8 months ago
wow, i don't think i could do it longhand. i think the laptop is going to be a godsend this year.
nate... Back · 18 years, 8 months ago
Man, I'll tell ya....
I can't write more than, like, a few words these days without my hand starting to cramp up.

I can type for hours on end... but I haven't written anything longhand since probably high school..... so those muscles just ain't used.

I might be an unofficial participant, or something.
If I can convince my brain that it needs to organize some of the things that have been floating around into something that almost makes sense.

Um, or something.

Actually... gorram it, why not make it official. I can't really do much worse than I did the last time (er, two years ago?) I bothered to participated. And I do still work on that piece in bits and chunks, and am still happy with it, though not the pace of it's progress.

It'll be an adventure.
