5 people voted for the Leonard Cohen version in the XPN poll but I'm guessing most of you know and perhaps prefer other versions.

He's a god. When I saw him in concert in June... changed my life. Very, very few people can cover his songs and actually do them justice.

I didn't know if you'd come to fhdc and see the poll but if you did I knew how you'd vote. I voted the same way but Jeff Buckley to a great job and I like Rufus's version too. I almost forgot Cale's bad me, no cookie. There are no bad versions that I've heard.

Rufus's version is very pretty, I'll give it that, but it's clear from the vocals that he doesn't get the point of the song.  He's singing it like just another sad love song.

Have you never seen Jay Clifford sing this? omg.

k. d. lang! (I don't like the song itself much but she sings it very nicely on "Hymns of the 49th Parallel" or whatever her second-newest album is.)
