Not voting this time... because I don't like either song. Overplayed. I can't even judge the merits of either song anymore because I'm sick of them both. I used to like both songs, once upon a time... like back in high school when I'd only heard them a few thousand times. Funny how some songs I can listen to a million times and still love them... and others, not.

I think part of that has to do with the circumstances in which you hear them a million times. I mean, I know there are some songs I've overplayed for myself and gotten sick of, but for the most part I get tired of songs that the rest of the world forces me to hear repeatedly way faster than I do of songs I choose to listen to all the time. Both of these would definitely fall into the category of being overplayed by the rest of the world.

They are two songs I'll never get tired of.

Your right how they are over played, but I voted Van Morrison because I love this obscure band from Canada called Moxy Fruvous's version.

Hmmm... good point... but last night at the bar I heard a version of Hey Jude that I liked.  Can I really judge the merits of a song by how well I like its covers?  I've been avoiding doing that in this poll, rather judging each song for its OWN version.  For instance, I didn't vote for Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah because the version that lives in my heart is the Jeff Buckley version.

What I should do is reach deep into my memory to see which song affected me more BEFORE I reached the listening limit.  Or maybe which one I'd rather hear on the radio right now.
