Discussion: Which game would you most like to see on FHDC?

It was hard to narrow down this list, to say the least. Please feel free to suggest your own options, or get more specific on the ones you'd like to see. These will all be multi-player (and some can be played against the computer as well).

there seems to be a major bias against trick taking card games here.
Josh Woodward Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
see "card games" option :-)

there were too many to list outright..
lawrence Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
why is uno listed separately, then? :)
Talcott · 21 years, 11 months ago
I'm a hobbit!
The English major in me made me click scrabble, but my real vote would still be for the old BBS type games. Although I have no clue how easy/hard it would be to convert them for a website.

Still, something RPGish would be cool.
Josh Woodward Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
uno has special cards ;-)
lawrence Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
oh dude. Trade Wars would rock. as would Legend of the Red Dragon.

but yeah, the RPGs would be cool, too. after all, we're all a bunch of geeks, according to last week's poll. :)

I can't play cards, the English majors will kick some wormy-butt in Scrabble...but I'm actually GOOD at Word Racer!!!

So make the cute lil begging worm happy *pleeeeeeeeeease* and add it? pweeeze? :-)
Talcott Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Ok, I'm sure I should know this, but what is Word Racer?
For some reason I'm thinking of the "learn to type" game I had growing up, but that wasn't exactly the most fun game in the world...
Somehow I think it's something a bit more exciting.
lawrence Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
maybe Josh will do the same thing with the games suggestions as the modifications suggestions - add all of them eventually, but the most popular first. :)

I would assume the options wouldn't be there in the poll if Josh didn't think it was possible to implement, so I think it's safe to say we could see all of these at some point assuming the demand is there.

lawrence Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
you can play it with a regular deck, though. maybe you could implement some cool fhdc scripting thing so we can create our own games with a regular deck of cards. :)

ace of spades is a good game, too.

lawrence Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
feh, I must be old fashioned. what's wrong with ? :)

No Ink Links or something like pictionary?!

Puzzles? Brain teasers? Riddles? Trivia? I like all of the above... It could have a time limit before the answer shows (a day?) or reset when the correct answer is entered. :)
danced with Lazlo Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
um, then it would be Crazy 8's.
emilie is CRANKY · 21 years, 11 months ago
there should be a frmonopoly, with fruvous place names! or something. heh :D
Sara Woodward Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Word racer is another name for Boggle. It's a game where you are searching for words in a grid of random letters. Sort of like a search-a-word puzzle, but the letters don't have to go in a straight line and you have no list of words to work off of, you find as many as you can yourself in a set amount of time. More points for more letters in a word, and using letters in certain positions in the grid get you more points. Much more fun than the typing game! Make sense?
Talcott Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Ah, ok. I should have figured that out when it was listed as the same option as Boggle ;)

I was thinking of crossword puzzles--some people, you know, get irrational crossword cravings. Um, so I'm told.
Michael (foof) Maki Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Ugh. I have never once, in my entire life, won a game of Monopoly.

Hmmph.

ooh. trivia. something i'm actually good at, because it's all about knowing completely useless information. want.

FHDC should be a fully accredited ACBL affiliated bridge club that awards master points. I mean we have so many players, there's Lawrence, Nicole, me, and, ummm, ummmm. OK we need a fourth.
lawrence Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
there are a few thousand people on here. odds are more than three of us play bridge. :)
nate... Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
me! I play bridge.. or.. I have. :)
A girl named Becca Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
Bah! Who knows anyone like *that*? We all know crossword puzzle addicts are mythical creatures that don't really exist, like, um, unicorns.

(What? Me? Bombard the wall with requests for help on crosswords? Never!)
Mamalissa! Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
There are specialty versions of Uno - Harry Potter and Spongebob editions for example, that have extra cards besides the regular Uno ones.

If we go for Uno, maybe we could come up with ideas for some special Fruvous edition cards.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 21 years, 11 months ago
That's the problem, there are thousands of people. Do people play bridge?
