What Andrea said...

Well for right now I'm making do with his CD _The Trouble With Poets_. But I'm gonna be seeing him live at Bumbershoot in September - so I'll revise then. I love his cd and esp. You Meet The Nicest People In Your Dreams.

K-Lyn:

A magical poet and his guitar

This man played my living room and he and Goody rocked my world. I'll never miss a show!

Mike "Racer" Yoshioka:

mmMMMmmm Peter Mulvey

;) Finally saw him at Bumbershoot. Was worth the wait :) Incredible guitar playing and quite the storyteller. Another one of those acts that you've just got to see live.

Johanna Culbertson:

Great folk guitarist

He's a great performer...if you can catch him with Goodie, do so! Also, a show at Canal Street when he plays with Tod Weidner is not something you would want to miss!

Sara Woodward:

Peter is amazing. The music that comes out of the guitar... go to a live show and just watch his hands. Wow...

Andrea Krause:

Earthy, intense, and emotional acoustic folky.

Peter Mulvey is just. that. good. He can work an acoustic guitar like nobody's business. He's a poet and a storyteller of amazing caliber. Live, he'll blow you away with his playing and singing. He'll then take you along on a babbling, hilarious tangent, and you'll love every minute of it. He's got one of those voices that just hits you in the gut. And yes, as Sara mentioned...*watch his hands.*

Josh Woodward:

Intense hard-edged dark acoustic folk.

This guy is good, *real* good. If you like Fruvous' more moody and intense songs, check him out. Especially live -- it's typically him with his sidekick David "Goody" Goodrich.

angelmusicmaven:

I bow before his talent and that smoky-tasty voice. Rock on, Peter-man!

Nicole the Wonder Nerd:

Moody, quiet, great stuff.

One of the very few singer-songwriters I actually like both live and canned. I'm particularly fond of his understated yet incisive lyrics.

Jymi:

i thought peter mulvey was from boston. i think he lives in boston now, anyway. my ex boyfriend is making his documentary.

he's excellent. i saw him a couple times

Joe Navratil:

His music is great; his lyrics incredible; and his knowledge of the history of his craft is unsurpassed.

Bruce Rose:

Still catching up

I don't listen to him often... only when I want to be MOVED.

Steve McCornack:

Boston based singer songwriter can bring it live and in the studio...his live version of "Whole of the Moon" ranks among the greatest live recordings ever, and makes any other version limp by comparison. Inventive and fearless. Outstanding live performer! Incredible musician!
