Kerri Chyka:

garage/pop/new wave/punk and David Byrne for pete's sake!

Intellectual. VERY funny. If you don't love this band you are insane.

chris q murphy:

i am sensing a trend...

fruvous covers: 'early morning rain' by gordon lightfoot (the sole exception... 'psycho killer' by talking heads... 'jockey full of bourbon' by tom waits - and they are both on here (yes i missed a lot, but these are the three i hear most) - anyway, these guys (and one gal) rule - hooray!!!!

lawrence:

much more than just Psycho Killer

pure classic. extremely intelligent songwriting and good musicians to back it up. always a good listen.

Mike "Racer" Yoshioka:

qu'est-ce que c'est

A band I didn't truly discover until University. Then my floormates blared it out our stereos. :)

K-Lyn:

And She Was...

used to be my theme song until I read what the band thought of it. Still love them. Stay Up Late is a classic. Everyone should owe 'Little Creatures'.

Manda Heim:

psycho killer

cool song

mickey:

avant-garde brut wit.

i used to listen to "naked" obsessively in high school. and that's not even their best. but the tape is, in fact, bright yellow. that's the kind of thing i went for at 14. i still do.

Tonya (Moore) Colombe:

if you don't listen to this band....

don't talk to me. ever. i'm serious.

Dan Z.:

Late '70's - Early '80's music that still sounds new

These guys (and girl) laid the foundation for so much modern popular music. Their best, most symphonic album is "Remain in Light" Probably the best headphone music ever. There are often 4 vocal threads and 3 instrumental threads going on at once, belnding together to make a dense, energetic whole. I still can not believe how old this music is. It remains fresh and daring into the 21st century. How many bands have that kind of staying power?

Bruce Rose:

One of the founders of New Wave, and one of the founders of Geek Rock. Sometimes, they're a bit rough... but they're brilliant.
