Reviews:

Mike "Racer" Yoshioka:

Saw Christina live in the beginning of August. It was the first time I'd ever seen/heard her. I was so impressed I drove 6 hours each way, two nights later just to see her perform again. An incredible voice, and so much talent. If she's anywhere near you, go. Go now. You'll be glad you did :)

k-rock:

Christina is just.. great. if you ever have a chance to pick up her disc or see her live, *go* do it. not only is she an absolutely amazing singer/songwriter - i dont think i can say it better than andrea :) - shes definitely one of the kindest people ive ever met. yes, christina rocks. hardcore.

mickey:

hell yeah.

saw christina abbott for the first time at frff, and unlike "cats", she lives up to all the hype. i have been kicking myself for nearly a month now for not buying the CD at frff, as now i must make do with the 45-second medley mp3 on her website until fall. don't make the same mistake. see her. buy her cd's. you'll be hyped too.

renita:

Coolio - just coolio - Rockin', amazing, coolio.

I also just saw Christina play in August at the same shows as Mike and drove the 6 hours there and back for the second one - It was very worth it. I had heard some of her music before as a friend had burned some stuff for me and I was very excited to be seeing her live in the first place and then she blew me away. Since seeing her 90% of my listening has been either Christina or that bald dude she's touring with *grin* but I'll talk about him elsewhere. And furthermore I agree absolutely 100% with everyone else here. And she's not only extremely talented she's a very sweet person too :)

Katie:

A folk-pop girl-with-guitar who deserves to be heard!

Christina Abbott gets better every time you pop in her self-titled debut album. The lyrics are witty and insightful, and her songs are so catchy you'll find yourself wishing you had a shower handy. She tours with Russell Wolff (www.russellwolff.com) but don't let that make you think that she can't command the stage. Her great voice and her presence make her well worth a road trip. My favorite song is "Madeleine," one that was performed live at Falcon Ridge, but you'd have to be insane not to enjoy "Climbing Cathedrals" on her album. So, to close my review, BUY THE CD! IT'S GOOD! SHE DOESN'T MAKE MUCH MONEY! Toodles, and don't stop the music. -katie

Maggie Deegan:

girl power!

please disassociate myself (i'd speak for christina but i don't know how she stands on this issue ;)) from the spice girls. onto my review. christina's great. you can really tune out the rest of the world when you've got her disc on. fantabulous. and i must say, for being recorded on that bald shmuck's porch (or where ever), damn fine quality. hee.

ellen buckley:

and she's really nice, too.

i can't seem to get her disc out of my CD player. this is somebody who should really be headlining and making big fancy albums and having groupies and all that. i love her sound... smart, groovy, dreamy, gorgeous. christina rocks.

Em:

Unbelievable...

I'm absolutely floored by this artist. Her songs are unbelievably powerful. I highly recommend seeing a show... and if there isn't a show near you, order the CD... and if you're a poor college student like myself and can't afford it, download the sampler from her website. You'll be glad you did.

Krista:

It's About Time

Someone younger than me with a literary style that's just plain honest. No pretensions, no fluff. Raw images. And then this voice... Christina Abbott is a woman that will be a name soon. Give her one or two years. And if you want to be one of those "Well, _I_ knew her when," do it now. It won't be long before a record exec realizes her awesome appeal.

J. Andrew World:

Christina has more tallent in her little finger than....

All of the Bacstreet synk agularea boys put together... Ok so maybe that isn't much of a complament because they have no tallent, but she is very young and very good and is just breaking into the right circles. She has a very bright future and a great cd. I mean each song is just wonderfully beuitful! So buy you copy today, just send $19.95 to me! Or go to a show and pick one up. That way she will get all the money and you will acually get the CD.

Andrea Krause:

Edgy and tender singer/songwriter with talent that will floor you.

Christina's songwriting skills surpass her age by a decade. She is most definitely not of the "every song sounds roughly the same" variety. Each song is a unique and compelling item, and she's constructing quite an impressive live show. Her lyrics are intense and emotional, and often strike incredibly close to home. On top of all of that, she has a voice that can really bring it together and leave you with your jaw on the floor. Christina rocks. :)

ellen, formerly evil:

Folky, Bluesy, just plain Awsome!
Christina Abbot has completely blown me away! I mean, not only is she a great person, but her voice is amazing, and her work is lyrical and georgous! I'm happy she's touring with the bald guy, 'cuz that means I get to see her a lot! woohoo!
