Reviews:

Kerri Chyka:

Icelandic pixie madness

I think that Bjork is one of my all-time favorites because her music is very theatrical and image- evoking. Her music videos also ROCK. I'm not superfamiliar with her Sugarcubes stuff, but her solo albums are all wild and fantastic.

Taylor nelsoN:

True Pixies (not the band) action...

Bjork is an incredible and evocative artist. While her work with the Sugarcubes was more rock-like and definitely playful, her solo work has delved more into an experimental world and has struck more toward the core of who she is.

Shelly Haefele:

Classic...

How can Bjork only have 2 recommendations so far? In my opinion she's one of the most classic alternative people out there. Her songs are catchy, but meaningful at the same time. Very few people can manage that.

Mosch:

The most underrated artist of this sentence!

Bjork has been making kickass music for years now, and occasionally somebody notices. She writes catchy, intelligent songs that cross genres and break rules. She's experimental, but never leaves you disappointed.

Denise Donaghy:

Bjork still kickin after the SugarCubes...

If you guys did Bjork (which if u dont I dont want to speak to you :P) listen to the SugarCubes.. the band in the 80s she belonged to. I have old records and tapes of shows if anyone is interested in the meaningful, yet insane, yet intellectual music... let me know.

mickey:

slammin' avant-garde-ish waif-pop...sugarcubes are a must-hear.

i almost fell down a flight of stairs once while bouncing around to the sugarcubes' "delicious demon" (from their early classic, "life's too good"). i would happily tend a few bumps and bruises for the chance to throw myself around to the ministrations of ms. gudmundsdottir. my personal favorites are "i miss you" (check out that screeching horn section! ooOOOMPH!), "violently happy", and "enjoy", a great booty-call song she did with tricky. hell yeah.

Snow In Summer:

divine.

now remember that i'm an atheist. Bjrk is incredible, period. probably the least mainstream artist i listen to, but that's not the point. point is: just buy post, you won't regret it.
