Josh Woodward:

Funny and Serious Booty Shaking Happiness

I didn't like Jim at first when I saw him at the Somerville Folk Festival. But that was probably because I was stunned by Peter Mulvey, who played before him. I got a CD somewhere down the road to give him another shot, and fell in love with it. Titanic and Don't Get Smart are wonderful!

Andrea Krause:

Quirky folk/rock that hides its wit behind depth, and it's depth behind wit.

I bought a JBE CD on a recommendation from a fellow fruhead. I was NOT disappointed. I love that the songs are often funny, but without the "aren't I funny?" tone of some other artists. JBE is unapologetic and is all the more appealing for it.

Mary:

Smart pop/folk

Intelligent songwriting and fun show. Who could ask for anything more?

goovie is married!:

You have to like someone who starts off a love song with the line, "I really liked her, but she's dead."

Mosch:

intelligent pop/folk that's insanely catchy

You can't help but respect and love this guy's music. It's funny, it's immensely listenable and if you feel like thinking about the lyrics, there's something there to think about.

Gordondon son of Ethelred:

Weird, what more can you ask

Jim Infantino alone or with his Big Ego is a blast. How can you not like a guy who sings "High On Stress?"

lawrence:

captivating on the first listen

I bought "Noplace Like Nowhere" on a whim after hearing about them on here and after my parents heard a bit with them on NPR and said they thought I'd like them. (my parents my not share my musical tastes exactly, but they know what I'll like :) On listening to it for the first time I pretty much immediately decided I had to buy their other CDs. it's that good.

J. Andrew World:

Fun and thought provoking I havn't seen them in person or own any albums, but the CD Single I have and all the mp3s, they rock! With songs about Caffeen, paranoya, porn, feeling groovie, the apcolypse and love they do it all! One day I will see them live and own a CD!

Jymi:

i love this guy. i saw him at a house concert in arlington in 2000. it was just a solo show and in someone's living room. it was great. i started listening to him in 1996 when i first heard the song "stress" on This is Boston, Not Austin, which i bought at an Ellis Paul show. my favorite songs by Jim are probably The Someday Cafe, Stress, and Cut Off Your Head...

i sometimes go to the someday cafe, so the song is fun for that reason alone, plus i love the line "everybody's tryin' not to be just like everybody, but i don't wanna be like that"
