Give a short summary of this band ("Soft folk with a jazzy twist" for instance):
I use the term 'rock' loosely here...

Reviews:

Kat Kunz:

quirky, funny lyrics set to catchy pop/rock melodies.

these guys opened for fruvous in november of '99. they range styles, from folk to rock to straight-up pop, but they're best categorized by their witty lyricism. very fruvous-fan-friendly stuff.

Lauren Teson:

Folk Pop Quirk Rock

The summary is actually in the words of the band members themselves. Inventive lyrics with catchy pop-rock riffs. They have not only opened for Fruvous, but also for TMBG. A fun live show!

Michael (foof) Maki:

I like eating soup with crackers.

I like soup. I like soup.

Mike "Racer" Yoshioka:

Bringing back the Ukulele

Despite the fact that they haven't made a trip out west (yet). They've already gotten a few converts out here. Flammable Pajamas are so much fun, Flammable Pajamas gotta get me some.

Kerri Chyka:

peanuts and guacamole

Good good stuff. Haven't seen them live yet, but hope to in the future. FUN!

Bruce Rose:

Having seen them live...

Even though there wasn't a trip to Burmese Monkey Hell, these guys put on a faboo show. And the manners... nicer guys just don't exist. Keep your eyes on Karl though; he's better than even he realizes.

Tonya (Moore) Colombe:

who?

oh, you mean those guys from st. louis who put out albums quicker than ani difranco. they're pretty good.

Veronika:

I have to agree

they are really great!

Jill KatFan#1 Josupeit:

Lively. funny, you can't just sit still and listen.. gotta move!

Wit and humor, great sounds. These guys are fabulous, and such a wonderful vocalist/bassist is that Brian McClelland!

bridget:

Why did it take bridget so long to rave here about HFP?

Well, I simply haven't noticed this nifty little music recommendation 'til now! HFP is great, great, great!!! Saw them for the first time two days ago. It's so nice to know them, they are not only talented and fun performers, but they are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to run into on this wide wide world.

Kentucky Kesia:

The Devil controls me by radar...

Kat gave me one of their CDs at FRFF this past year, and it hasn't been very far from the player ever since. Funny and fabulous!

Taylor nelsoN:

Satan Makes Me Donuts

Lauren got me turned on to HFP last year and it's just cool stuff! Kinda Fruvous-y in a way, in other ways not so much. Either way, they're way irreverent and just a lot of fun to listen to!

Shelly:

I love Shelly When She Smiles

And she does when she listens to Hotel Faux Pas. They are fun, witty, and musica loose-cannons. Now why can't they play PA once in a while??? oh, btw...cute bassist dood, too!! :)

Voltaire Arouet:

They should give all crack addicts a mandolin and a synthesizer!

I cannot tell you how fortunate I am to live in St. Louis! If you haven't heard these guys, you must run...RUN I tell you to your computer and order every cd they have put out. I saw these guys when I caught Fruvous at the Side Door in St. Louis in Nov of '99. I was so entirely impressed that I regularly attended every show I could. I love these guys!!! Um....did I mention that they are great?
