Give a short summary of this band ("Soft folk with a jazzy twist" for instance):
Great drum and bass groove.

Reviews:

nate...:

Great drum and bass groove.

These guys have great drums.... great bass... really bad poetry over the top. If you can get past the "vocals", they're alot of fun.... especially for parties and for driving. :)

mickey:

still teary-eyed over the breakup.

god, i hate "creative differences", but i suppose that's how people make better music. feh. irresistible bliss is seminal. spend your hard- earned. you won't be disappointed. listen to "soft serve" until you wear a groove in the cd.

Amanda Wilson:

Most amazing rhythm section

Yuval and Sebastian. Good God! I can deal with Doughty's vocals because he is what he is. It's very New York: terse, direct, almost brutal but still a lot of fun. Everybody needs a copy of Ruby Vroom. Go. Get it now. I'll wait.

lawrence:

wacky and cool.

I don't think I fully appreciated these guys until I saw M. Doughty open for TMBG a month or so after Soul Coughing had broken up. He was great, despite the fact that many of the songs sounded empty with just an acoustic guitar, especially given the lack of very interesting lyrics. definitely entertaining, and the sound when the full band plays (which I guess only happens on CD now) is just incredible. talk about a driving bass groove....

Maggie Deegan:

three sweet bejeepers

when you listen to these guys you can't help but start counting and speaking in jibberish. perhaps their cds should come with warning labels..

B-Rock:

completely original sound; unlike ANY other band.
