Snow In Summer:

post-punk ennui turned goth pop

Robert Smith and his ever changing line up have been entertaining the doom and gloom set for over 20 years. 27+ million albums later, the rumour is that Smith has decided to call it quits. The Cure may not be touring anymore, but if you're interested in guitar-laden, synthy dance numbers or 11 minute towring opuses about then end of a relationship... pick up an album.
Suggestions for the weak: Standing on a beach (the first singles compilation) or Galore (the 2nd compilation). if you want a "real album", pick up Wish, Disintegration or Bloodflowers. If you like it, work your way backwards and listen to the evolution of what is sure to be a band who will be listed among the Who and Led Zeppelin as the most innovative band of the late 20th century.

..but still a dark, hypnotic, worthy listen. robert smith's schoolboy-english wail is legendary, adding a vulnerable all-too-human edge to synth-laden darkpop epics.

K-Lyn:

dark is beautiful

I don't know how they keep it up but I'm SOOOO glad they do. Don't miss a concert!

Tonya (Moore) Colombe:

got me through high school.

'nuff said.

Laura's way behind!!:

Spine tingling great!

I've heard a lot of the Cure songs...they're wonderful! Some of the videos I've seen on MTV and MuchMusic were really great ... They're just great!

Bruce Rose:

They're back!! *hisses "We missed you"*

It doesn't matter where you start, you'll finish with the entire catalog. They're that good. No... they're better.
