Review of "Bob Dylan" |
Information:What's the band's name? Bob Dylan What genre is this band?Folk Where is this band from?Does this band have a homepage?http://www.dylan.com Give a short summary of this band ("Soft folk with a jazzy twist" for instance):*special* Reviews:are you kidding me? why can't I beleive no one has recommended DYLAN yet? is there something someone isn't telling me? because he's only one of the greatest songwriters in the world!he can only be described as **special** i loooove Bob Dylan. he makes me happy :)the maestro I think that all of the artists on this list have taken some influence from Bobby D. His subtle but moving political anthems, his romantic odes, and every darn else thing he writes (oh so many) include some of the greates songs written in modern music history. Songs like "Blowin in the Wind" and "Oxford Town" have immense cultural meaning/depiction. And he also sings one of my all time favorite songs "It's All Over Now Baby Blue." I prefer his early acoustic stuff (self- titled album, Another Side, Freewheelin, Bringin It All Back Home) but all of his albums are nothing less than flawless.great songwriter yeah, a lot of people don't like his voice, but you know, I think it's kind of grown on me. no, it's not the best voice in the world - far from it. but it's perfect for singing his songs. and his songs are absolutely amazingly written. extremely powerful, and when he wants to make a point, he has a great way of making it. (and it's usually a good point, too :)I've been to a G R E A T show of his on may 1 1999 he played near Innsbruck and I had a chance to see him. it was an open air on a ski resort. and the surplus money was for the victims of the avalanch in february 1999. I had heard before that you cannot expect it to be fun, but it was. the band was laughing, including himself... I just loved it.I'm too disappointed at how low on the list he is to describe him. The folks before me did a good job of that. on my life's to do list is to learn guitar better so i can play "buckets of rain" endlessly. god, i love that song. Beyond a God If you don't know Dylan don't be ashamed just go out and buy Highway 61 Revisted, Blonde on Blonde, and Blood on the Tracks. There isn't a single weak track on any of his early albums. The greatest singer/songwriter ever. Period. The world is a better place because of Bob Dylan Jody: Grandfather of Guster, Moxy Fruvous, and all alt-bands. To rate this, log in.
