K-Lyn:

A lyrical Poet and an amazing musician

The man has been making beautiful music since before I was born. His lyrics perfectly illustrate so many human emotions and relationships. I'm continually in awe of his talent.

Will work for anime:

The God of all things rock and roll!!!!!!

Billy is a master when it comes to evoking emotion through music....even his instumentals!! If you don't own "The Stanger"...By all that is good in this world, go get it!!!!!!!! you won't be let down!!!

Andrea Krause:

A classic, a great showman, and a wonderful songwriter!

Billy Joel really does rock. His songs aren't classics for nothing! And this guy, as big as he is, still knows how to put on a great show! You can't NOT sing along to a Billy Joel song if it's on the radio!

Mike "Racer" Yoshioka:

Lyrics that paint pictures

The guy knows his stuff. What is there to say? He's good. He's real good :)

Steph Strenger:

His was the first "real" concert I ever saw

And I was blown away. From the time I was 5 I liked "We Didn't Start the Fire", but his other stuff is also quite amazing. A person can not go throughout his/her life not hearing at least one of Billy Joel's songs. Billy Joel is also a great showman, doing bits and pieces of other songs to fill time. One of the legendary musicans out there today.

mickey:

once biked 8 miles to see a show of his.

at jones beach in 1990. worth it. then again, i am a native long islander, and it is a crime punishable by toenail extraction not to worship billy joel. but i probably would anyway, if only for the album "the stranger". and many others.

Angela Anuszewski:

It's a big hit, isn't it....

Billy Joel is one of the greatest songwriters on teh planet. Rumor is he'll be back on the road in summer of 2001. Catch him if you can!

Lauren Teson:

The Piano Man!

Glsas Houses is by far his best album (I mean look at the number of songs from GH that made it on the greatest hits album). Besides, I've always wanted to call up some guy and tell him to meet me in the lobby wearing a jacket and a tie...

Megan can't believe it:

You don't know who he is? Have you been under a rock?

It's Billy Joel. What else is there to say? Okay, okay, fine, so I'm never at a loss for words in these reviews. The man's amazing--go ahead, try and tell me you *couldn't* break out into your own rendition of "Piano Man" at this very moment. We all know him, and even if everyone doesn't love him, we all acknowledge his ability as a superior song-crafter. From fast, edged pop like "We Didn't Start the Fire" and "I Go to Extremes" to lyrical ballads like "The Downeaster 'Alexa'," Billy Joel runs the gamut of modern music and sets an example for all the would-bes who wish to follow in his footsteps.

Sharona1881:

A rock God

billy will always be the god of rock and roll to me... i grew up listening to him and watching his concerts on tv... the millenium concert was insanely wonderful. if you do NOT own anything by him, go buy the greatest hits albums - you will not be dissapointed in the least!

John J. Ryan:

The reason I became a musician.

It's as if he can't miss. I love every single one of his songs, and can sing (or play) any of them. He brought out the musician in me back in high school, and has made me want to perform today. A pure inspiration to me.

Bruce Rose:

Another artist that I love, even though he doesn't make it into the player very often. I spent almost three years with "The Longest Time" and "Uptown Girl" stuck in my head. That's longevity and timelessness, and those aren't even his best.

Jody:

Excellence. Classic. What more to say?

Tori Rose:

There are few artists who can write as many songs as this man has, let alone watch a huge percentage of them become hits of the decade...

Billy Joel is a master of his craft. A genius of the piano and an icon of rock and roll. He is a timeless classic.
