Marvelous god and godfather of glam, and still making records. A face for every mood. This music helped me through a rocky adolescence.

Much more than Glitter and Hype a true musical genius.

Bowie started as a folkie in the sixties. His real name by the way is David Jones, he can't use that of course because of that other musical Giant in the Monkees. He moved on to invent Glitter rock then moved past that. Trhough it all he has remained an incredible songwriter and one of the greatest live performers. Fruvous Covered Space Oddity as a segue from Laika, a good choice. I think it was an improv too. He has too many Classic Songs and Albums to pick one out. I will say that I once considered Rebel Rebel my dream song to perform if I could sing.

He was folk rock in the 60's, churning out the same type of songs that moxy fr�vous does. In the 70's he went hard core. He began creating charactors and presenting them onstage. David Bowie is definatly versitile pop star of our times, continually reinventing himself to keep him fresh yet steadaly learning from his past charactor. From Spacey-Hippy to Ziggy Stardust to Popstar to Goth, I think we finally see who Bowie really is with his current work. He is all of what we have seen and more.

David Bowie is interesting because he has done so many different sorts of things. From his Ziggy Stardust glam rock to his "Let's Dance" straight pop to his "Low" experimentation in new age/ambient music, he is always interesting. Madonna is often noted for changing her looks, but she pales in comparison to Bowie. In his 35 year career, Bowie has changed looks, personas, and musical styles...he always seems to be ahead of his time. Check out his website to get an idea of what he's up to!
