wonderful!

it's impossible to sum up this band in abything less than a million words. :o)

Taylor nelsoN:

SotW will give you a Faithlift!

The same friend of mine who got me hooked on Fruvous also got me started on SotW when she played the CD, Faithlift, for me. Wow! Any band that can fit a song about the PeeWee Herman case (bone of contention) and a song about a visit to the book depository in Dallas, TX (6th floor) simply has to be awesome!

Celtic rock before it was popular :)

They are amazing in concert! I had the good fortune to be a concert where the lineup was Bruce Guthro, Fruvous, and SOTW in 98 - what a show! I highly recommend the cd Save This House though I haven't yet purchased it myself, especially the title track and Home For A Rest :)

Gigi Omar:

love them :)

I just bought their 'hit parade' cd and I can't stop listening to And If Venice Is Sinking. What can I say? They're great! I've never seen them in person but I would leap at the chance to see them. They also have added credibility because my friend Simon loves them and you know you have to do what Simon Says :)

Lightning Rod:

Old Hats, fit the best

It true, they have been jiging since way before Great Big Sea, or even Will Smith, but they are true artists of their style! I love Save this House, and I agree that Home for a Rest is the perfect dancing song (but not after too much beer) I first had their stuff in my hand in 1986, so you can see that a good thing dies hard! Plug into Spirit of the West, and see them live if you can!

Squee:

What the heck are these guys doing not already being reccomended by me?

Yeah. They rock. I always seem to have a strong need for Spirit of the West when I'm closing up at work. Really. And of course in other less blearghy times as well.

Take me home!

Total Celtic FUN! Everyone knows Home For a Rest, and when I educate the less-enlightened folks, they always love everything else SotW has done. East Coast rollicking flavour from a West Coast band.

angelmusicmaven:

good records, amazing live show. I'm FAR TOO CANADIAN!
