Reviews:

Agent Scully:

Funny, catchy tunes if you like Fruvous, you will LOVE them

Any group that makes fun of Celine Dion is No. 1 in my book!

wild bill:

hear hear.. carrot juice is murder is my favorite anti-vegitarian song.. good tunes.. good lyrics, funny stuff that I can actually listen to more than once.

Misch:

Picking up the pieces...

WHen Fruvous started out busking on the streets of Toront, it was their humor and wit that brought them attention (and beer money) there. Fruvous soon got discovered by the CBC. Over the years, fruvous has dropped a little bit of the humor side. The Arrogant Worms pick right up there, with songs that bring out roars of laughter like "Me Like Hockey", "Malcom", and "Winnebago". Check these guys out if you ever get the chance. They'll leave you splitting your sides in laughter.

Daancing Queen:

Sooooo funny

If humour is your thing, then check these guys out, they'll have you rolling. "Night on Dildo" and "Last Sasketchewan Pirate" are tops on my list.

Squee:

Large funny.

As has been said, these guys are hilarious. Their onstage improv is lots of fun, too. And, let's face it, everyone loves Canadians (their patriotic stuff such as "Canada's Really Big," "Proud to be Canadian," and "Rocks and Trees" is beautiful). And they appreciate the fact that handbells rock! Yah!

renita:

All about getting the laugh - but with harmony :)

I adore these dudes :) There is nothing like a live show by these three comic geniuses - well okay it has to be a live show so that you can see Chris do his funny rubber-legged type dancing... The songs are brilliantly satirical, funny, charming and well performed :)

Andrea Krause:

Funny Funny dudes

Oh I'm all about Chris's rubber legged dancing! :) This is a very funny band and I agree, they must be seen live. The albums have some misfires, but that's true of any comedy act. On the whole, they have me laughing my butt off on a regular basis. Oh, and if you ever listen to Big Fat Road Manager...play it loud. :)

lawrence:

hilarious. some songs will even have you rolling around on the floor

almost a Canadian version of Weird Al, but without the parodies. they cover an amazingly huge range of styles and sing about everything that they can make a joke about. And when they make fun of something, they take it to the extreme, which makes it that much funnier. :)

Mike "Racer" Yoshioka:

Canadians must find comedy naturally ;)

I mean, how can you not laugh along with the Mounted Animal Nature Trail song. Unfortunately, I've never seen them live. But Live Bait is a lot of fun. :) (Even more fun is seeing friends singing their songs out loud as you walk down the streets of Seattle) ;)

Gigi Omar:

really nice guys

Not only are they painfully funny (expect to come out of their concerts with your sides aching from laughing) but they are very kind too. they don't just give autographs but they actually talk to you. I like that.

Rachael "want snow" fruz:

better than a root canal! and twice as fun!

just plain outlandish canadian fun!

Steph Strenger:

These guys *need* to tour in the states

My goodness, this band is hilarious. They even make their liner notes interesting. They are Monty Python/Weird Al twist, but Candian and more musically inclined. And fewer band memebers. But still funny. You must give these guys a listen too.

Lightning Rod:

They are cow, hear them moo!

Funny, Canadian, Trio? sound like my band! only with more albums! If you can get past the recording quality (not as good as Moxy) they will make you pee! They have been together now long enough to be a well oiled escort wagon! I love their 1st album the most, but I have to agree that Dirt is a blast, and Recording is getting better! Wong's Buffet makes me howl, and It's Great to be a Nerd cracks me up every time at the "download photographs of Agent Scully naked!" What a great group! They have been through the good, bad, and the bowling, and have landed in the Dirt!

Caroline Picker:

crazy madness

Fun and peppy and witty! With a song called "jesus' brother bob" how can you go wrong.

bee:

they are called the arrogant worms, this automatically means you have to like them. if you want to have yourself a good laugh, listen to a worms cd. i especially recommend 'live bait' their live album. it's just like being at a concert.

Shannon's in NC:

I laughed til I cried!

I had heard about these guys through many Fruheads and they sounded cool. But once I saw them live in Ottawa, I was hooked. Not only are they funny, but they are great vocalists and performers.

Kat Kunz:

she's very popular. [very popular indeed!]

BUY _live bait_ right now. it is HILARIOUS. you will not regret your purchase. the mountie song, the mounted animal nature trail & carrot juice is murder are three gems of the modern musical canon, i swear. now, if only they'd tour in my general direction...

Carmelita Cupcake:

Do you need to ask?

Its from their own Web site: But the Worms' climb to fame was not without it's sacrifices... The road to success was soaked with the blood of many a fallen comrade... Prepare yourselves, true believers, for... TALES of the BITTER EX-BASS PLAYERS!

Galsan Blit:

Kwazy fools with 6 GREAT albums and an AMAZING live show!

After being a Wormie for about a year, i gotta tell you, these guys are the BEST canadian comedy band! With a bit of the sounds of the Barenaked Ladies at the beginning of their carreer and the feel of a Moxy Fruvous live show, this twisted trio plays the most hilarious stuff i've heard! Listen to 'Christmas in Ignus' in July, sing 'Mounted Animal Nature Trail', 'Malcom', 'Rocks and Trees', 'Celine Dion', and 'Carrot Jiuce is Murder' door to door for candy at Halloween, scream 'SPONGES' down your hallways at school or work.....the true essense of the worms' songs will come out!

Emy and her umbrella:

Soft, quiet folk with a jazzy twist.

wait... no it isn't! i think they fun stuff! and now i will get some more of this music!

Katherine, comedy junkie:

"That was a little creepy . . ."

Great musicians who play music with very funny and occasionally delightfully disturbing lyrics. Their live shows are hilarious--Chris's dancing has to be seen to be believed--very much like Fruvous in a lot of ways, but specializing in humour. I recommend every single album, but especially "Live Bait", "Dirt" and "Christmas Turkey".

Shawna login infrequent:

They're just three guys...

...who happen to be hilarious. It took me a while to figure out what these guys were about, after first hearing them on campus radio, saying "Our fans? Oh you mean recycled fruheads?" :) The live shows really did it for me though...especially the "Gaelic" song with the Riverdance bit at the end. My faves are the nationalistic ones, like The Mountie Song and Canada's Really Big.

trampy john:

It's cool in many ways to be canadian

If i had first heard their music while i was at a bar, i would've fallen off the bar stool i was on from laughing, if i hadn't already fallen off from drinking. ouch.

J. Andrew World:

More Crazy canadians!

I saw them open for Eddie From Ohio, and using very pregnat version of Julie as the reason why, they were far superior then said EFO that night. With songs about Celine Dion, Creepy stalker girl (Hey I have one of those! It's nice to relate so well to someone's music), Internet love (Hey I have one of those, too!), Baby Poo and boybands, what is not to like? They are some of the best performers I have seen!

:):

mike ford came to thornlea today.
he is the most hilarious guy i've ever met.
not to mention a great voice!
the worms are ok but i like fruvous better

Jerrilyh:

G-d they're so freaking funny! Baby Poo rocks!

James:

I have a sudden urge to move to Saskatchewan to see how I'd fair as a pirate. I'm lovin' it!
