Violin passes through many hands...

A great piece of Canadian work. Watch the movie if only to hear the music playing in the background. The violin travels across the world...each owner brings his/her own style to the instrument. I especially enjoyed the gypsy's take on the "violin theme".

The movie jumps back and forth between time period and location, but the transitions are smooth and don't confuse the audience at all.

Beautiful pictures. Beautiful music. It's good all around.

Fabulous film. Visually stunning, beautifully woven story.

An old French teacher of mine made us watch this movie. It remains the only film that I can say was worth its time in class. (Well, aside from Amelie, but that's a classic.)
