Angel falls in love with girl...Angel "falls" from sky.

Only watch this movie until the angel sees the object of his affection. After that point, it's not that great. But the whole exposition is shot expertly. Whether it's the long tracking shots, swish-pans, creative angles, or splendid use of reflections, the beginning of this film is a tasty picture show. *Mostly German...some French...a bit of English. Subtitles, of course :)

Of course you can always watch "City of Angels," the Cage/Ryan remake.

I totally agree that the exposition is the best part of the movie. If you see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, you've gone waaaay too far. Turn it off and write a better d�nouement in your head.
