Review of "Richard Shindell" |
Information:What's the band's name? Richard Shindell What's the album's name?Vuelta Reviews:would've been a 9 or 10 if he hadn't made a number of lame production choices. please lose the random woodwinds, richard. they add nothing. nothing good, anyway. a 10 for songwriting but a 5 for execution. There were just too many tracks where he sounded flat and just disconnected from the songs. And I agree with carey about the strange production choices too (mainly instrumentation and lack of harmony vocals). He's just so much better than this album. I really love this album, even with its production quirks. Heavily played on both my CD Player and on FolkTown on Sirius. Damn good disc, complete with a cover of Pete Seeger's "Waist Deep In The Big Muddy" at an opportune time. So close to a 10... but I, too, agree about the production issues.
Still, some of the songs on here became instant favorites. To rate this, log in.
