This was, for me, one of the most vibrant of the new wave of British Indie albums of the year. While Franz Ferdinand were described as sounding like Gang of Four this band were produced by a member of Gang of Four and had really diverse influences. They have interesting use of harmony and a really jangly, disjointed angular sound that makes their cover of Hounds of Love one of my favourite songs of 2005 so far. There album excited me as much as some of the great re-issues and gave me something fun to dance to on nights out again. They were the soundtrack to my (rare) night out all autumn and will remain so for a while to come. I really like them. I like the pace. I like the lyrics. I like the style. I also like that they stream parts of their songs on their website.
