Review of "Andrew Bird" |
Information:What's the band's name? Andrew Bird What's the album's name? The Mysterious Production of Eggs Reviews:It took awhile, but Andrew finally finished his masterpiece. All the raw elements were always there - the beautiful music with ornate and unique arrangements, the perfect sense of lyrical imagry, and a smooth and effortless voice - but things never seemed to quite click until now. Every single song on this CD is jaw-dropping. I can't even pick highlights. They're all these little self-contained symphonic nuggets of subtlety and grace. Nothing is boring, nothing is cliche. He crafts hooks out of things that really shouldn't be hooks. He borrows the best aspects from the best music - the subtlety of Nick Drake, the ornamentation of Rufus Wainwright, the smart and literate lyrics of The Decemberists, the arrangement depth of Radiohead. YES. YES. YES.
the only reason i can't give this a perfect 10 is that andrew sucked the life out of "masterfade" and "mx missiles"--get fingerlings 2 to hear them the way they should sound. To rate this, log in.
