There has to be a way to go back and vote again! How do you expect me to pick
only one answer from so much cartoon joy?
I think we need another poll just for favorite saturday morning cartoon from the 80s, but that may just be me. (Snorks and GoBots all the way! All hail the generic cartoon revolution!) Hmm...would Bobby's World count as a Generic cartoon? *ducks just incase anyone gets that line*
"Hmm...would Bobby's World count as a Generic cartoon? *ducks just incase
anyone gets that line*"
That's terrible. Augh. *throws a tomato*
what about weekday cartoons of the '80s? he-man? she-ra? silverhawks? mask?
come on, people!
(and some rotten produce for talcott's "generic" line...heee)
yup, without tiny toons, i never would've gotten into tmbg (i'd seen them on nick
rocks and been traumatized by the "hotel detective" video, but the tiny toons
videos several years later were all i needed to go out and find copies of all of their
cds). i also would never have discovered the roches, but that's a different story.
oOwe are the roches, and if you think bugs aren't cool, we knew the beatles when
they were in liverpoooooool!Oo
Kinda the same story here.
For the longest time, I thought the songs were made for the show. It wasn't until a bit later that I caught on to things. I remember being disapointed when I got my first TMBG album, and it wasn't Flood. Of course, that album was John Henry, which is today my favorite of theirs. So it goes...

One of the best CD comps to come out of the 90s was the Saturday Morning
Cartoons CD. THis is the CD that had alt-rock bands doing covers of cartoon
themes from the 60s-70s. Highlights include Matthew Sweet on Scooby Doo,
Ramones on Spiderman, and the best one of all: Violent Femmes doing Eep Oop
Ork Ah-Ah from the Jetsons. Awesome CD.
There's a similar CD of "School House Rock!" songs, which is *awesome.* (That
just goes to show you how much of a dork I am...) My favorite track is Better
than Ezra on "Conjunction Junction." *Grin.

ok wheres spongebob!!!! hes the best! I"M READY!!!!! heheh
The funniest thing I've seen on Conan was when Conan and Max were watching
World Cup, but then just HAD to interrupt their viewing Sponge Bob came on.
What was even funnier was how the crowd went nuts when the image of Sponge
Bob came on the screen.

Excuse me but Bugs Bunny is the greatest cartoon ever and it isn't even nominated? What is this Lapinphobia?
if that doesn't go on the jam compilation, i'll cry.
trunger is counting...

Why must you make me choose between my beloved cartoons!? What kind of
cruel, sick, twisted joke is this?! Oh the humanity!!! Why?! Why?!

but why isn't there a 'none of the above' option? *pout* I mean, my favorite
cartoon is Undergrads, which isn't on there; neither is Recess.... and, well, I'm not
all that fond of any of the choices. :P So, I'm just not gonna vote. No, scratch that,
I'm gonna vote 'none of the above' even if it's not an option. ;)
I use the phrase "saturday morning cartoons" to mean any cartoon aimed towards
children. Here in the states, there's a grand tradition of all the networks
playing kids cartoons all morning on Saturday.
Wait, I thought you said that Bugs Bunny counted under "saturday morning
cartoons", those definitly weren't aimed at kids.
(They might be marketed that way nowadays, but that's not how they were made) Of course saturday morning is all but dead. Instead we just have 12 ber-edited anime series, and 15 Saved by the Bell clones. Sure, some people get cartoon network and such, but others of us are cable-less. Gah, am I really old enough to be talking about the "good ol' days"?
don't worry, talcott, i miss the good ol' days too! :D they used to have quality
cartoons on saturday mornings, like thundercats and tom and jerry and tex avery
stuff and he-man! woohoo! though of course today we have recess, and the wild
thornberrys. heh. gotta love those cartoons :)
