I subscribe to a few magazines. There's standard fare like Entertainment Weekly and Time Out New York (I'm a entertainment/pop culturejunkie at times), then there'sSocial Work (the journal ofthe National Associaton of Social Workers)and then there'sUtne Reader (I'm also an alternative culture junkie) andthe relatively newPaste Magazine, which covers mainly music that is not typically in the mainstream and comes with a CD full ofgreat music. A great find and I devour each issue.

For a second I thought I was reading the Culinary guilty pleasures thread and was afraid you liked to eat paste. There was a kid in my friend's first grade class that put white paste on pretzels and ate them.

currently, i subscribe to RS & Blender. i read Spin occasionally if there's a good coverstory & Q if i have the cash (damn those import mags!) i get Fortean Times, if my betterhalf remembers to order it for me. i used to get Utne Reader & The Nation, but i can't really afford them either. i also skim through Newtypeif it's laying around.

I used to subscribe to Time and The Nation, but never really had the time to read them and realized that I was spending way too much for something that just ended up in the recycling bin after a quick leaf-through.

The magazines I've had subscriptions to have been:

Scientific American
Natural History
National Geographic
Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists
Mother Jones
Bulletin of the Center for Defense information
Baseball Weekly
Sports Illustrated
Science
The Sciences (from the New York Academy of Science)

I'm thinking I forgot some left wing stuff. Scientific American believe it or not got me on left wing mailing lists and that led to the Bulletins of hte Atomic Scientist Center for defense information, and Mother Jones. I think I might have gotten a few others.

I always wanted one to the Magazine of Fantasy and Science fiction. Festivus is approaching...

i don't subscribe to anything, but when i decide to buy a magazine it's usually Empire (kewl film magazine with regular LotR stuffs, heeheehee) or Total Film, or a music magazine like NME or Q. i also rilly like ELLE and used to buy it religiously (i have a pile as high as my head) but i don't buy it much at the moment 'cause the fashion and articles aren't as good asthey used to be. wah.

Thanks for the pointer to Paste Mag. I'm going to check that out. I used to get "Games" but never had the time to do the puzzles. And it looks like I'm the only fruhead who subscribes to Linux Journal, Model Railroader, and Wierd NJ.

Playboy, Rollingstone, Modern Drummer...

Wintress · 20 years, 8 months ago

Self

Shape

Fitness

O

some green'n'crunch Health thing

Cooking Light.

If I'm travelling and need a magazine, I'm likely to pick up Cosmo, Vogue or Glamour.

*shrug* I skip through much of the "Fashion NOW" and make up sections. I also regularly read (cover-to-cover) a popular men's magazine that has already been listed. :)
