I wish I still had that...

Discussion: I wish I still had that...
Mamalissa! · 20 years, 4 months ago

Is there any piece of clothing you wish you could still wear? Perhaps it got old and worn, or stained, or too small... but you wish you could have it back?

Someone asked me whether I had any bellbottoms, and I thought wistfully back to a pair I had in high school.

And there are a couple of dresses from college I'd love to be able to fit into again, so they're still around. You know... if I get a tapeworm or something.

i wish i still had my dad's old jeans that looked super hot on me (no kidding). i stole them regularly throughout high school & then he threw them away :(

actually, i wish i still had access to a lot of my father's clothing, now that i'm almost as skinny as him.

I wish I still had my dukes of hazzard tshirt that I got when I was .... probably 5.

It was my favorite.

For some reason, however, I don't think it would fit me anymore. :)

1. my hot pink high-top chucks, circa 1987
2. my r.e.m. migraine boy shirt (which had an unfortunate bleach-related incident)
3. my fuzzy sk8r boi shoes :P
4. the indian print skirt i wore constantly in 11th grade
5. lots of broken old necklaces that were turned into craft supplies when i worked as an arts and crafts "counselor" for vacation bible school

All my pairs of vanquished Chucks.... cuz I don't want to buy them anymore now that they're owned by Nike. The ones that were maroon, navy, and forest green were the best.

MUDD used to make boys jeans, and i had the MOST COMFY JEANS EVAR from them. they fell apart in college and i had them held together with over 100 saftey pins in decorative patterns. i eventually threw them out :( i didn't look particularly great in them but they had a neat dye job and were so comfy. :(

it wasnt until years later i learned that MUDD was a teeny-bopper jean company. and until recently, i couldnt even get into their biggest size.

had the best pair of jeans in the world when i was about eight. dark blue with silver threads running through them. i struggled to get into them for far too long. eventually i'd have to wear a really long top over them because i couldn't get them zipped anymore, much less buttoned. tee hee!

they became too short eventually and i had to give up. I hid them so they wouldn't get handed down to anyone. when i was 13 or so, i cut them up and used strips of the jean material in a blazer I created (still fits properly!), so i guess i still have them in some form.

-My leather jacket from Nordstroms
Both too small now.

purple billowy amazing purple silk skirt with mother-of-pearl buttons and these long, thin, soft, a little lumpy-feeling sweaters.

I could wear that forever.

i miss the vintage falmer glitter flares that died in a rain storm and the red bellbottoms I threw out as everyone called me "the girl with the red trousers" and did not bother to learn my name.

I used to have a purple and white striped shirt when I was about 5. I loved it because it looked like it would taste sooo good. Yeah.. shut up, I was 5.

I used to have this black zip-up hoodie I think I wore for a year my sophomore year in highschool. I had poked thumbholes in it, to keep them all the way down on my arms.. and I had pins everywhere on it.. and it was bleached out in certain spots.. and I absolutely killed it..

but it was royally comfy.. and I thought I looked like the shiznit wearin' it.

I miss that thing. I was thinking about it earlier.. funny enough.

I remember having an old t-shirt of the Star Trek VI teaser poster I somewhat liked. The jury's still out on whether I want the TNG uniform shirt two of my teachers (also trek fans) bought me at a convention. :-P

'twas a gold operations uniform. They'd originally bought me a red command one, with 4 captain's pips, but I wanted the gold one. I didn't have a problem with not being able to be a captain in that division, so I traded one of the gold pips for a black one, and could then make any rank I wanted. :-P

*waits for a "wow, you're a geek" posts to troll in* :-P

you mean a hollow donuty one? so you could be a lt cmdr or whatever?

I'm just imagining you as a security officer. maaaan.
iPauley Back · 20 years, 4 months ago
yeah -- it actually isn't hollow, it's black with a gold ring around it. While I didn't really fancy myself being and android, I always kinda wanted Data's rank and job.

an orange sweater that ended up with the knitting fusing together after it got too hot while i sat in front of a gas fireplace. it didn't melt, but the knitting fused together into this patch that looked the same as the rest of the sweater... but hard.

and a brown sweater that was my fathers from before i was even born. it was falling apart but SO comfy. i threw it out with all of the other hand-me-downs i had of his after we got into a fight.

damnit.
Phoenix Back · 20 years, 4 months ago
Oh.

But if you still had the orange sweater you'd need a walkie-talkie and a haircut, too.
renita Back · 20 years, 4 months ago
heeheehee :D

nah, the orange vest is a plastic, security kind-of thing.

i did security at frff the year i went. i had a vest and a walkie-talkie and my newly-shaved head. RAWR.

the orange sweater was knit and comfy and happy.

i know this doesn't count, but.

i wish i'd actually bought some jurassic park merch at the time it came out. (despite the fact that i was 10 and was receiving approximately 20p pocket money a week.) because now it's fecking gold dust. wah.
