Obligatory Newbie Post

Er... hiya. I'm Tara, 18 year old Bostonian who stumbled upon this ridiculously good band about a month ago, and was shocked to find I had never heard of them before. Within a week of hearing a poorly recorded version of Photosynthesis, I had bought Live Noise, scoured the internets for more recordings (I have 81 songs so far, and I'm planning on buying Bargainville when my next paycheck comes), found Fruvous.com and was extremely saddened that it hadn't been updated in 3 years, downloaded a radio bit that mentioned "fruheads" and "frucons", and after a quick Google search, landed here and was delighted to find signs of life. My favorite song (so far) is Lee, and I have yet to find a song that I didn't like. ^_^
Hi Tara! There are a few signs of life here, We have yet to discover if it's inteligent.
I think all the newbies should sign a petition asking Fruvous to perform again.
What's funny is that some of the newbies who haven't seen them play are now oldbies on FHDC.
True. I mean, I would REALLY REALLY like to see them, but from what i know of them currently, they seem happy doing their own thing. And maybe, in a while, they'll miss fruvous like we do, and...un-hiatus, and all will be well. Just a thought.
If not, they should do what dan said: break up and have a farewell concert. :P
..'cause I wanna see them play their pretty pretty songs?
Nah, you're right, peer pressure is bad. I guess I can be content in merely being outrageously jealous of all of you who've seen them. Speaking of which, are there still Frucon's going on? *crosses fingers hopefully* The radio bit I have is from Frucon 4 I think, and after some fuzzy math involving the circumference of the moon and how fast a goat can run in slippers, I figured that was around 2001. PS - it's really hard to type with your fingers overlapping each other. But it CAN be done!
Yep. At least some folks trek up to Toronto each year.
*give jealous looks to everyone who was able to make it there this year* ;-) At this point, they are more people hanging out than an orginized convention, but they do still happen, and a worth going if you can make it.
yeah, welcome tara! actually, i did kinda the same thing as you, i came here about a month or so ago, saddened by the realization of this horror called a hiatus. The people here are great, really nice and funny and whatnot. im on here a lot, and there's always someone here. I'm in the midst of a fruvous-cd-buying frenzy, downloaded wood and Live Noise from iTunes,, as well as getting YWGTTM, b, and Bargainville in the past...month i think.
I share your insane jealousy of the people who have seen Frvous, many of them MULTIPLE TIMES... I really recommend doing that BitTorrent thingy of a show, (it's under Active Forum Threads as BT something or other) I did it yesterday/the day before (took me awhile to figure it out) and it was totally worth it. It's insane how they sound so awesome, and are so incredibly funny live. I mean, some bands are all good on their recorded cds, but sound like crap live. These guys sound incredible, if not BETTER live than on cd. It will probably make you more jealous, (it certainly did for me) but it's a price worth paying. I'm waiting for the right time to ask my mother to get me Thornhill...because I myself, at age 14, do not have a credit card, and it's not on iTunes. Looking forward to seeing you here more :) -one last note- got to maplemusic.com and find the frvous videos...more fr-goodness.
?
i don't get it. is there a reason for what i think is insane laughter?
ok then....MANY TIMES.
and the multiple *was* capitalized, to make a point. but yeah, many folks have been to a tad more than "multiple" shows.
hee hee. that's what i did. yum..they are good. now i'm going to watch them...again...and again....and again...
you get teh point. You must first create an account to post.
