   Discussion: Star Wars III
rufus t firefly · 19 years, 3 months ago
Has anybody seen the trailer for Episode III? Looks brutal and magnificent. May be the only one of the series to get a PG-13 rating. Promising...
derek harrison Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
no i haven't seen the trailer, andi would be hard pressed to believe that it's gonna be worth it after seeing the first two.

It might actually be good.
It should at least be darker than Eps. I and II

I have some hope, but I'm not expecting too much.

I'll still probably go opening day though ;-)
derek harrison Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
another thing that may make it better is depending on how they lead from it into the original trilogy. there's an opening there to do some real nice foreshadowing and symbolism and stuff. i just hope they handle it well. the movie will be great if when it's over you wanna go home and throw in 'a new hope'

As long as they kill jar-jar i'm happy.
Talcott Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
from what I've heard, everyone gets a death scene.

My hope is that Jar Jar's is similar to the end of Braveheart. Only without the dignity ;-)

heh heh -- agreed
Nik Chaikin Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
I think id rather see him hung from a tree by his own tongue.
Phoenix Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
That doesn't work. His tongue is way too flexible he would still be able to stand on the soil. :D
Bender Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
how about a redwood? the TOP of a redwood?
Phoenix Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
brilliant idea. Let's get to work :)
Bender Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
can we cover him in honey and fire ants first?
Nik Chaikin Back · 19 years, 3 months ago

Why did the font change in the middle of that post?
Andrea Krause Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
he who can't pay attention to detail enough to close his tags is paying enough attention to someone else's font? *grin*
derek harrison Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
i dont know. the font changed when it finished loadin, for some reason. the first part was written while it was still loading.

George Lucas said he liked to call it 'Titanic in space.' and that's 'a real tearjearker.' I don't see how that can possibly not suck.
mOnZtre Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
well he didn't say what kind of tears would be jerked.. I'm hoping to god this one won't be a sad attempt to tie up the loose ends of 1 and 2, and attach them to the loose ends of episode 4.. I was thinking Yoda could sketch jar jar naked, birth a love child named Salacious.. let us explore all the origins of the B characters from 4, 5, 6 which were played by muppets.

shamless plot hole pointout:
anyone else notice how ben says he doesnt remember owning a droid in ep 4, when he should have clearly recognized r2 and perhaps c3p0.. perhaps in his old age, he is forgetful.. or perhaps the dark side of the force has clouded his judgment, or perhaps he bumps his head pretty hard in ep 3..

in any case.. I refuse to watch the trailer/or/arrr ... I'd like to watch it with a clean slate
Talcott Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
Which is why Lucas wants to go back and edit the first three again.

Although, I actually support the idea, to a point. He has the money, clout, and chance to do it, and it would be nice if all parts of it fit together as a single movie.
That said, he isn't known for making good edits to the first three, and I do think he should allow all versions to be avaliable. If nothing else, they're an interesting study in the way his storytelling mind works.

Bender Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
I always thought the "I don't remember owning a droid" was part of his whole sekrit hidingthing persona.
sheryls Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
exactly. it was a mind trick AND IT WORKED! :D
mOnZtre Back · 19 years, 3 months ago
so if ben had said instead "OMG, Luke, I so remember this robot from a ways back.. he had thrusters n shit" it just wouldn't have worked? hrm

LOL!

most recent reports say that the movie is going to acquire a PG-13 rating due to content. lucas was quoted as saying "i wouldn't bring a 5- or 6-year-old to this movie."

most of you have probably already seen the most recent trailer. i simply cannot wait for this film. considering star wars was the first movie i ever saw, it's like a little bit of childhood closure. (:
