other: polls where "Pete Best" would be an acceptable answer.

I have a feeling that first posters are hovering over FHDC like vulture waiting for the polls to turn over at midnight EST, just so they can be the one to say "First post!" Am I right?
nate... Back · 21 years, 7 months ago
I don't think they turn over at a certain time.
I'm pretty sure josh does them manually... since I've seen them change mid-morning.
:)

You're both right. I have a queue that I can schedule as far in advance as I want. More often than not, on the first day a poll is up I decide when the next poll should go up. I pick it, and schedule it -- these are the ones that turn over at midnight. On the times when I forget to do this, or a poll has just lived past its "sell by" date, I schedule a new poll to start immediately. Normally mid-morning. :)

What, no "I like 'em all" option?
nate... Back · 21 years, 7 months ago
"Not happy with the poll questions or options? Then let's see you do better, really! Suggest a poll!"

;)
Talcott Back · 21 years, 7 months ago
so what you're saying is that I should just resubmit the entire poll, with a single added answer?

(Besides, I did suggest one yesterday. Completly unrelated, but that's beside the point ;)
nate... Back · 21 years, 7 months ago
Sure!
We could just have a daily variation on the same poll.
:D

And some of the more math-minded out there can work out the equation of how quickly all options turn to Pete Best! :D

That sounds like me. After doing some back of an envelopes I found that the expectation value for the number of iterations of a poll with n options having all options turn to Pete best is 3n/ln(n) Where ln(n) is the natural log of n.
