Who has the best fast food fries?
Um... they do?
Let's see I already knew McDonald's had beef flavoring in them (so all you veggies out there, um, you might want to stay away) but eggs? Here are the ingredients listed on their web page: French Fries: Potatoes, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural flavor (beef source), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (to preserve natural color). Cooked in partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (may contain partially hydrogenated soybean oil and/or partially hydrogenated corn oil and/or partially hydrogenated canola oil and/or cottonseed oil and/or sunflower oil and/or corn oil). TBHQ and citric acid added to help preserve freshness. Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an anti-foaming agent. Wendy's says: Potatoes, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Dextrose, Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate (color protector). Cooked in: Hydrogenated Corn and Soybean Oil. But, they warn that they COULD be cooked in the same oil as the chicken nuggets. Burger King states: Potatoes, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Modified Potato Starch, Rice Flour, Potato Dextrin, Salt, Leavening (Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Sunflower Oil, Dextrose, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate added to preserve natural color, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Xanthan Gum, Thiamine Hydrochloride, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Smoke Flavor. KFC's website kind of sucks and I couldn't find anything. However, this site lists Burger King, KFC, and Wendy's as having Vegan friendly fries. Obviously not McDonalds. ---- Obviously this is US data. So unless Canadians are putting eggs in their fries, I'm curious where you got your data. (For the record, I miss the old days when they cooked the fries in lard. Yum!)
But how are the fries alone without all the yummy goodness on them? I must say I've never had them that way. :)
Damn right about the poutine, though.

jack in the box or arby's curly fries. oh yes. poutine doesn't count because you must have all the other goodies. -= george =- They're my favorite. I like skinny fries, I live on salt, I don't like my fries too crunchy, etc. HATE HATE HATE Burger King fries after they started putting that nasty coating on them. They say everyone loves the taste of their fries with it on, but ugh. I also do not eat fries, however i voted "other" because back when i did, nothing beat Cedar Point's fries - or Steak Escape. The atkin's diet has put me off fries, and i really don't miss them at all. If i nab fast food, i usually get something with a vast amount of meat in it, remove the bun, get a side caeser with it (mcd's, wendy's, boston market, and arby's all have them - if BK does, i don't know because i hate their burgers) and people just kind of look at me funny. but i don't care.

Believe it or not, it's at the Hillsdale Diner in Hillsdale, NY, right outside of Falcon Ridge. It's the diner on the corner of the single traffic light in Hillsdale. I ate there the weekend before Falcon Ridge and the fries were heavenly.
Not really. I just wanted to mention the fact they have the best fries I have ever tasted.

The best fries are at Nathans. They are deeply ridged, golden brown, and perfect.
Of the places mentioned KFC is the best. Of the burger joints strangely enough the best is White Castle. I won't eat their burgers but I stop there for fries.

I'm a fan of Roy Rogers spicey curley fries. I only get them at high-way rest-stops, though, and it could just be the hunger of the road-trip that makes 'em so good.
Spicy fries are always grody to me. It makes me very bitter when I'm somewhere and they ONLY serve spicy fries. Like the Iron Horse. *pout* So I get tortilla chips substituted if I have a dish that comes with fries. like rally's! when i was in japan they told me one night they were taking me to Rally's, and i needed to dress up. wtf. i'm like, rally's? dress up? turned out it was a chain of yaki-niku restaurants, and it was pretty nice. still made me giggle though - like, "rally's? the drive thru burger joint?" it's an excellent way to avoid putting on weight. i think alot of people would be surprised to find out how much weight they'd lose if they just cut a few things out: 1. Fries (and baked potatoes, chips, and other potato side dishes - most restaurants will substitute veggies or salads) Several peoplehere at my workplace (myself included) have lost a ton of weight avoiding these things (maybe not alltogether, but like instead of having these things once a week, having them once a month, etc).

fries with cheddar and bacon bits... mmmm
followed by a surf & turf boli (mozz. cheese, minute steak, baby shrimp, and butter/garlic sauce in a stromboli shell) dr00l MmmmmmmStuffYerFace...... I try to get all my friends to eat there, it's heavenly..... And I live just 10 minutes away from it!
*sigh* jaci beat me to it, as usual.
guess i'll just go home and sleep with my wife. *wink* mmmmm....arby's curly fries. most definitely! I do however miss the waffle friesthat were served in the law school cafeteria in college. Those were some yummy bits of crispy goodness. "Ah, ya got Arby's all o'er me."

i mostly don't eat fries at fast food joints cause of meat concerns... i like fries very much though. my mother makes the best fries! (then me. then racermike.)
I gave up fries, doughnuts and potato chips to lose weight (and not die of cancer or something). I wanted to give up ice cream and cheese too, but it's just too difficult. So I try to cut back as much as possible and only have ice cream once or twice a month...and get the fat free stuff. Yay fat free! I think it still has the calories, but it won't give me a heart attack at least.
McDonalds has the best fries when, and only when they are hot. As soon as they cool, they become a soggy mess of not-good-ness.
I need to find somewhere to get Poutine too. I was veggie when I discovered it, and they don't tend to have it in Ohio now that I'm not so much of the veggie type. (of course, they probably didn't have it in ohio before hand either) Well, I don't think of "fries" but I do think of how KFC has taties. (Whoa, I just said "taties" {g}) When I get a combo meal and I get to pick two sides, I choose cole slaw and potato wedges. Potato wedges count as fries. That is my decision. And I chose "other," because, while I enjoy all of those other kinds of fries, my favorite comes from Checkers.

The home fries at Lou Henri's in Iowa City are a thing of beauty. Peppers and onions and potatoes, nicely seasoned with salt and pepper and served with a side of salsa. Best fries I've ever had, plus they're vegetarian.

The food here at the University of Rochester is crap... except the fries! The fries here are perfectly crispy and have just the right amount of salt and are so yummy.
But yeah, other than that, the food's crap.
I dunno. Fries like the ones I hate at Burger King have batter. And some other places. To give them a little substance. But places that have straight fries that are, like, potatoes...there shouldn't be an egg problem there, I would think.
Cheese *curds* and gravy.....kinda icky, in my opinion. I'm a BAD Canadian *g*
