I do have a tendency to clutter, but I usually know where most things are...or at least what pile they are in. It's when I clean up that I lose track of things. :)
Currently my room is in the semi-clutter unpacking phase.

Exactly, when things are cluttered their positions are in accord with my mental map. My brain isn't an elfa closet, it is just a big flat area to dump things on.
heeheehee. neal and i are both cluttery pack rats. so while it's never the source of argument, it does mean that walking around our apartment is very, very difficult. :)
ditto. in our three-person living situation, my sister is the cleanest, but she is not very clean at all.

I am cluttery, but not on floors. I tend to just pile stuff up on dressers, desks, and tabletops until it reaches statuesque proportions. And on the bed, if Steve is travelling.
Also? I almost always know where any given item is -- i.e., in which specific pile of my clutter. Steve and Andrew otoh are cluttery on any and every surface, including floors. AND they are completely random in their clutteriness, so they often misplace stuff, or somehow mix it up with my piles, and are all "have you seen my ... ?" Which is what drives me far crazier about their clutter than does the mere fact of its existence. I can handle clutter, I just can't handle needing someone else to help one find one's own stuff in it. :P

yeah, i can only see part of my floor. this is because i like to be able to see everything. and because while i do like it neat, i tend to put off cleaning it up.
however...i'm a neat freak in everything else. usually handwriting, except during mr. robinson's essay tests, in notes, in organizing any kind of anything, in clothing....yeah. even in my assignment book: check it. i have a case for my writing implements- it is split so one side has pens and one side has pencils. i rest my case. edit: warning- the assignment book picture is friggin' huge. view @ your own risk. however, it allows you to see the details, like my meticulous plaid over monday. :)
ha. you could say i have a little free time on my hands during school. ;)

it's definitely a genetic thing. Daddy shoves things under his placemat on the kitchen table or piles them up on the counter by the stove (fire hazard? possibly). Mom often has enough magazines, catalogs and other miscellany at her place at the table that her plate is nearly to her chin when it's stacked on top... not to mention the broad swath of crap on the floor next to her chair. I used to be very, very good about keeping a clean room... but now? TONS of lists, post-its, debris from law school applications, CD CASES OMG, cds *without* cases, dirty laundry, clean laundry, books, magazines...
...but I always make my bed every morning. :D You must first create an account to post.
