i'm from the boston area, and there was a place called "nuggets" in brookline, MA where i went to high school. it sold used tapes and records and CDs and stuff, and there was a shelf of $2 CDs, that were basically bands that were not well known. Once in a while, if i had an extra $2, i would go to Nuggets and buy a random CD.... i'm not sure what attracted me to buy the "Bargainville" CD, but it just called out to me... maybe it was the names of the songs. i dunno, but i had never heard of the band. (this was in like, 1995)... anyway, it was by far the BEST $2 CD i got there. i have been a fan ever since.
i like all sorts of music... my favorites are pink floyd, ani difranco, bob dylan, the cure, outkast, erin mckeown, melissa ferrick, beastie boys, alice in chains, x-ray spex, the beatles, the dead milkmen, old skull, patti smith, the muppets, the slackers, DJ Shadow, nirvana, cypress hill, metallica, tricky, portishead, crash test dummies, buzzcocks, depeche mode, fleetwood mac, the clash, joey ramone, ma rainy, bitch and animal.... i dunno. i could go on and on. i own like 500 CDs, 150 tapes and 100 records or something like that. i'm a bit of a feind.
i'm an artist of a sort... i finger paint with acrylics, play with cray pas, take photos... all sorts of shit like that. i'm a writer and i make zines (well, it's been like 3 years since i put out the last zine)... i have several LJ accounts.... i like to sleep...
i'm not very exciting as far as what i do. i have eclectic tastes in things and i'm creative, but i don't have many friends. i have PTSD and i met my girlfriend (i'm gay) in the psych unit....
pretty much everyone i associate with are mentally ill or recovering drug addicts/alcoholics like myself.
... today i spent my morning in the ER because i woke up having a panic attack.
yeah... so ummm. that's all i have to say right now.
