   Discussion: Hello from Baghdad
Abby I'm a civilian yay! · 20 years, 1 month ago

Hi,

My name is Abby, and I'm in the US Army, currently stationed in Baghdad, in the Green zone!

It's really cool for me to be able to get my dose of moxy online, I brought some of their music with me and it's one of the only things that keeps me sane here. I miss the states so much!

Other than that I do have a yahoo IM account that I try to check as often as I can so if you feel like IMing me feel free, my account name is [email protected]

thanks for letting me introduce myself to you, I hope we can talk soon!

Hi Abby (or, "welcome Abby!") :D I'm glad you have something to keep you sane and remind you of home while you're in Baghdad. Keep checking in here ... we're a weird but friendly bunch and there's always something to while away your time with in the forums.

Stay safe, and I hope you and your colleagues are able to come home soon.

Hey Abby, nice poll.

I'd have to go with dayglow orange. For one, it's not like I'm subtle about the person I have the hots for already anyway; and on the other hand, playground chatter just seems like it would ruin any potential "mood".

(And upon further reflection, dayglow orange skin -- presumably -- would be really interesting with my already-orange hair)

Yeah, then you could start an alternative to the Blue Man Group. Do you do performance art?
renita · 20 years, 1 month ago
at least the person would know i was interested.

and yah. playground chatter, that'd be CREEPY.

I have to ask. Did you bring a copy of gulf war song?
Mamalissa! Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
see, now I think the playground chatter would be a pretty good ice-breaker.
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 1 month ago

I don't just want to be breaking the ice when I am opening my legs.

Well, but I suppose it could be good for causing some exploration. But I voted for orange. I'd rather have people know that I'm hot for them rather than trying to draw them in via curiosity. :)

isn't "open your legs" a kind of sexist, antiquated phrase?

i open my legs when i walk. i imagine that i & anyone who knows me would get used to the playground chatter. :)

Even so, I imagine it would still be awkward in certain situations that involve leg-opening.
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
Might be especially embarrassing at the GYN. Whereas you're not likely to turn orange there. :)

Ooh. Good call. *Cringes.

I imagine it would be pretty awkward playing golf, too - ya know, you plant your feet to take a shot and everything's all quiet and from between your open legs comes the sound of children fighting over who's next on the swings....
dirty life & times Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
i dunno. it would be something to distract me while i'm all laid out.

i mean, if i'm going to be embarrassed on the gynaecologist's account, i have lots to choose from, in such a situation.

My friend Kym is over there too. Where were you stationed before Iraq?
