So, let yourself be known! Who is coming? It's going to be pretty much a spontaneous free-for-all (Aside from Saturday afternoon in the common room) for activities, so let you and your ideas be heard!

I'll establish that once a date and plans are announced. :)

We have a date set for Feb. 15th I believe. We'll get more details posted once we get them sorted out ourselves...

I'd like some feedback on what kind of activities/games you'd all like to participate in at the con. This is your con, so tell us what you'd like to do!!!!

Frucon IV does exist!

It will be February 15th 2003 in the Mulock room of the Comfort Suites hotel in Toronto. We anticipate this to be a rather intimate gathering of maybe 30 people or so, very much like Frucon I, only probably smaller and without the band.

There will be no advanced tickets or any of that. A suggested contribution of $20 CDN will be accepted at the door.

The Frucon committee is NOT planning specific events for this one. There will be video, but rather than make a schedule, it is going to be more of a "hey what do you want to watch?" kind of thing.

Any events that are not spontaneous and require pre-planning will be done by the attendees, so start organizing yourselves now! Kelley Sztaba is going to help people co-ordinate, so if you want to work on an event, get in touch with her at [email protected] or you can write to the committee at [email protected].

If you are unfamiliar with Toronto, and want to know what kind of things you can do there, check out HTTP://www.toronto.com

None of the Frulads has any shows scheduled for that weekend yet as far as we know, but Tory Cassis does a regular Saturday Jazz gig at the Reservoir Lounge, so that is one show we could go to at least.

We have a block of 10 rooms reserved for Thursday Feb. 13 through Sunday Feb. 16. The rate the hotel gave us is $119 CDN per night for one or two people. This is for a room with 2 queen beds and a folding sofa. To book at that rate you must call the hotel directly (not the reservation line and tell them you are with the "Fruhead Convention"

NOTE: $119 is a good rate, but not the best available currently. If you go to the choice hotels website (http://www.choicehotels.ca) you can get a rate of $98 CDN as a AAA/CAA member or "internet user".

Remember to start checking http://www.frucon.org for more information (as soon as we get it updated). Any questions can be directed to the Frucon Committee at [email protected]

Just saw the post that there *will* be an official Frucon - I'll be there with bells on!

A little info about the Reservoir Lounge for those who plan on going to see Tory on the Saturday night.. It's a *very* small place that tends to fill up fast (generally around 11pm, and he starts around 10pm), so going early is your best bet. If you're planning on going in a group of people and want to actually sit down, the best idea is to reserve a table sometime during the week before - otherwise you probably won't get one *g* Cover is either $7 or $10 - seems to depend on who works the door that night.
